That’ll be very nice!

So, if I saw correctly, you’ve already received, tried out, and sold the Sadowsky Metro you just bought?

Is it just me, or are other people seeing images in that top? Rorschach tests should use that bass top. I see a woman, head up by the neck, and uh, the rib cage down past the end of the body line. Great piece, but I'm goint to try to talk you into Bart J pups in 60's position and a nordy 2.band active/passive with VTC.

I thought I wanted to give a J bass a try and that was why I purchased the used Sadowsky. I didn’t care for the tone at all on that bass. I’ve been talking to Keith for a while about a J bass build but I hate to try it and not like it.

Probably safe to stay away from the J config then. The Century JJ5 I had definitely sounded like a jazz bass, but it just had the ergonomics of a Roscoe.

I’m seeing an alien woman for sure!

I see an alien, as in extraterrestrial, but then I'm a product of the 60's

I’m still not sure on pickups. I know I love Bart Quads but kind of hate to have them in 3 Basses. Has anyone tried the Aguilar Super Doubles. Keith says it’s some of the best sounding pickups he’s installed.

Never played those, but I think a more open/airy sounding pickup would be a good thing for contrast against your current Roscoes. The best sounding Roscoe I had (to my ears at least) was the one you had for a bit that I put Nordstrand Super Big Singles in (with an Aggie OBP-3 pre).

Edit: I meant Nordstrand Big Singles; Super Singles are the Aguilar version.

If you use your thumb to cover the area where you see facial features, then flip the opposite end up, you’ll see an even more evil looking alien like features!

View attachment 3844936 Best shot I could get. In the pic the truss rod is fully engaged and turns easily in either direction and the tool is not touching any part of the body. The length allows for a shallow angle approach
Forget the hex driver. Tell us all about this denim couch!
