Roscoe Club

Made the mistake of taking the Koa bass to our Church services today and listened to the playback of the TV program. Man that bass is just so good. Gladly taking the sale down. I'm not in need of money right now and I'm keeping it. Sounded so good today with the Noble Preamp and Cali76.

if I had the KOA, my search for the ultimate Roscoe would be done.

Smart move keeping it

I just spoke to Keith on the phone (he answers every time I've called). I asked if he's still interested in doing a single-cut bass. He said that he and Kyle are looking into different designs and wants to do something special. We agree'd that some other luthier's designs are plain fugly and some don't work well functionally and asthetically.

I told him to take his time since I've got a new bass on the way. No need to rush. Just make the best single-cut available. He's totally onboard with that.

Watching Trace Adkins on AXStv and the bass player is playing a 5-string Roscoe LG. I played a 4-string LG in my country band back in the early 90's. Shook the room with big solid low end on the weekends at Cary's in Buckhead Atlanta. We also played Underground Atlanta in February when it snowed so hard we had to wait til the next morning to go home.

I know this has probably been discussed at length here but does anyone here know the difference between Roscoe Daddario and standard Daddario XL nickels? I’ve read that Keith used 125 B string is this the only difference? I think good old Daddario xl nickels use 130. Maybe the are just regular XL’s but I ordered some from him as I like those anyways so it’s a win regardless

I believe that the Roscoe sets are 45, 60, 85, .100, .125

The stock D'Addario's are 45, 60, 80, .100, .130
