Roscoe Club

This beauty is the best bass I've owned.

Don't your real friends razz you about things? When it happens here, it just means you are part of the group...or just deserve a little razzing.

There are a lot of reasons to think you might be selling it. If my memory serves, you said you might be raising capital for a new home soon, and you have said similar things of previous basses you then list for sale, like several Roscoes and Devons. It's okay to think something 'is the best you've ever played' and then sell it...after all, it landed you at an even more bester bass ever! :bassist:

I’ve never seen a forum like this club that takes jabs at people endlessly. I believe I’m done posting in this thread.
I'd rather see you stick around, we share VERY similar taste in Roscoes. If anybody has been given the business, it's Steve, and he's become a moderator. I get hit once in a while for my lighter bass preference, I mentally shrug my shoulders, but don't walk away.

Hey guys- new member of the club here. I know most of you guys play the standard soapbar types that like that beautiful one bassworship just got (side note - I get why he's upset. He was given a hard time over in the preamp thread for flipping them seemingly daily and rebuying the same ones and getting "the best tone ever". It did probably go a little overboard but as has been mentioned you gotta have some thick skin to be part of the club - or else hide your relentless gas/tone chasing;). I've been there too but it was really next level stuff. I say you stick around and temper your honeymoon periods bassworship, it's all good :)).

Anyway this is overdue but I came across this in the classifieds and took a chance. I'm a jazz bass guy and this one has me very impressed.

It's my first relic and I really dig the vibe even if I "didn't earn it". It's beautifully made and plays great. It's right up there with my Suhr classic which really is imo a perfectly made and playing jazz bass. It's got a beautiful Bolivian Rosewood board which I'm seeing a lot fewer of these days. It was built completely by Keith as an artist build. He spec'ed out some high end hand wound Jaco pickups and wanted an exact replica of his jazz neck. I'm not really a big Jaco guy but it's a pretty neat setup. The artist/seller decided right away that he couldn't do 34 inch scale lengths so he put it up for sale.

Anyway here's a couple crappy pics while I'm in my music room.

We all know what GAS is like and what honeymooning is like. They’re teasing you a little because we have all been there. Lighten up, laugh at yourself sometimes. It’s definitely not worth melting and rage quitting over. That’s weak sauce. You’re better than that.

It was a nightmare of sorts;
When I dreamed that a Tort;
Was installed on my custom Ken Smith.

That would drive me to drink;
Lordy, but that stuff stinks;
I'll have to make do with a Port.

--- now the Carl Thompson 6'er walkup to the chorus

Chorus following Thompson walk up, major third modulation, and time signature change
Tort's the simple answer.
Tell me you don't you see.
Waitin' for the harvest
from that bustin' tortoise tree.

Verse 2
Somebody keeps buildin' basses
but they always come up short.
Plenty of fancy woods and stuff
but all are missing tort.

Chorus

Final verse

From Roscoe to CP Thornton
and every X Y Z,
Strap on some tortoise plastic and
from GAS you'll soon be free.

Chorus to a big finish

:laugh::roflmao::laugh::roflmao: “Tortoise tree”?!?

I can clearly see that the quarantine is affecting us all!
