I like it on black, all hues of “whites “ and some reds. That’s about itI don’t think the tort pick guard works at all on a lot of basses.
Wow that Lake Placid and Tort jazz is amazing. That is my favorite color combo for vintage jazzes (that and of course classic sunburst). Nice collection!Posted this on the Roscoeheads FB page thought I’d share . A family portrait cheers!

I can clearly see that the quarantine is affecting us all!
not for me no Thank you ... and while we are on tort topic I am 100% anti fake printed tort on any instrument . May as well put a tort sticker on it . Get a Spitfire or WD celluloid and toss the fake stuff in the garbage . .02![]()

Does anybody know if they would build a LG 3000 with a 33" scale? And what kind of up charge that would be? I know there is a natural ash 3005 kicking about with 33" which looks cool.
I realize I could email them, but I am just kicking tires at the moment and don't want to waste their time (when they could be working on all your guys new sweet builds!).
With CNC and Plek machinery available at the shop for a while now, I believe Keith should be able to accommodate a request for a 33" LG.
I have no clue about what the up charge would be though.

Absolutely yes.
He’s built several that I know of. Even a 30” scale that played and sounded really good.
Seems like the charge used to be $300.
I loved that 30” Scale one. Wasn’t it a 6 string?Absolutely yes.

Or alternatively, does the LG shape make for a shorter reach to the first fret when compared to a FMIC instrument (both 34")?
For me, the Century turned me into a Roscoe lover. The SKB and LG all felt like there was a reach to first fret. I almost gave up on Roscoe and the great sound and feel of the neck, but tried a friends Century. I now have 2 beautiful Century Plus basses and a Classic P.IME the LG has the "feel" of the longest reach of the 3 different body shapes Ive played. I will say the LG shape was always the funnest to play for some reason? Also worth noting (conversation some years ago) that Keith likes a higher action on 4 bangers then the rest of his fleet. I hit this wall a few times and had to shim a neck or 2. I personally found the SKB to be the best overall for reach/balance. While the Century has the long horn I could never jive with it against my body.
It's almost like Keith knows what he's doingOne person favors Roscoe *Century body shapes, another LG, and another SKB. Who's right? Every one of them.
It makes sense, right? There's no universal body type for people, and there is no universal one-size-fits-all shape for Roscoe bass bodies. However, maybe I am a lucky outlier, because all three shape work for me. I like them all.
