In case anyone is interested, I asked La Bella to make some low tension flats that would fit my SKB 3005 which they didn't make. They made them for me and they are absolutely fantastic. They are on the site now: La Bella Strings

They're like TI Jazz Flats without that weird thing going on in the mids that TIs have and I have never been able to EQ out.

I've been out of the flats market for a while (especially for my fretless). But... I'm curious as to how my new LG5 PJ would sound with flats. And now... Now I may have to spend 60 bones to find out...

I am assuming that its 35" scale. If so, these are a perfect fit.

They are the smoothest feeling flats I have ever tried. But I am a La Bella fanboy. Their tapes are the best too IMO.

I’ve tried just about all flats made except for Dunlop’s and the Labellas was my least favorite tonally. I loved TI’s and really liked the Cobalts.

Cobalts are probably the worst flats I’ve ever tried. Different strokes, YMMV, etc

If there’s one thing that I’ve learned it’s that what might be my favorite string on one bass might not work at all on my other basses.

I’ve got the Deep Talking flats on my P-bass and they totally kill (and feel great). I hear that the Low Tension Flats feel a little better (tension wise) and have been meaning to try a set on my Roscoe but just haven’t gotten around to it. I know Andy Dow loves them. I guess that I need to get a set.

Made the mistake of taking the Koa bass to our Church services today and listened to the playback of the TV program. Man that bass is just so good. Gladly taking the sale down. I'm not in need of money right now and I'm keeping it. Sounded so good today with the Noble Preamp and Cali76.
