Roscoe Club

I wonder how much influence on that sound does the BEM have!!

Probably more than you might suspect.
Keith told me years ago that he installs more graphite strips in the maple finger board basses (for increase stability). I’ve always thought that the graphite strips contribute tremendously to the “Roscoe” tone.

I have this LG 3006 on its way from GC. Looks like it’s a beer one with that serial number 2017 18 ?

I wonder if that's really the case, Joe. I have a 2005 and it has the volute, but 2015 does not.

I would suspect that your 2005 is a Signature then Ray. I don’t remember the exact year but just before Gard left the volute became std. on Customs.
Of course there have always been exceptions.:)

And my wife can confirm that I’m not always right!:D

Wives can be wrong, you know!!

The 2005 does have the wedge neck and the volute is Mother Of Pearl, but not the "R" on the headstock. The control pot holes are not reset, too. I'm sure variation are common through the years, and Keith did make this a special build for the Perfect Store grand opening giveaway.

Yeah. Keith was constantly running out of abalone and MOP and not doing the beautiful “R” on the headstock (of the Signatures). As I remember that was a sore spot on a couple special orders (because they didn’t find out until the Bass was completed.

Well, a Roscoe Signature was/is on my Bucket List of basses to own before I can no longer play.
I suspect if I’m really this close to owning one, then my Bucket List is one line item less.
Now, where is that Fender/Fodera Custom Shop deal of a life time?

I’ve been playing my Roscoe 5 string and comparing it to my oldest 4 string, I’ve noticed that somethings are just easier to play on the Roscoe. I’m not sure if it’s because of the lower action or radius/profile of the neck. Has anyone else found their roscoe to be noticeably easy to play? I’m wondering if I bought a Roscoe 4 string, if it would have the same feel (magic?).
