Roscoe Club

Sounds like two great inspirations for country songs. The first verse could be something like this:

“Don’t Let those spiked thingamajigs drop on your cowboy hat wearing head.
Cause if you do, your blonde girl friend will think the sky’s falling.”

I'm feeling you, but needs work! Lots and lots of work!!!
Verse 1, revision 1:
Gatorwood burr bounced off my head
Plumb knocked out, thought I was dead
Cross-eyed wakin' two blurry blondes callin'
Was just one shreakin' "Sky's a fallin"

Well, it's not a Roscoe, so my acquisition doesn't belong in this group. And I haven't posted a NBD in the main page as TB seems to be strongly divided on this builder. I observed a number of people get roasted when they post questions, concerns or NBDs of his work.

It's a Carl Thompson Fretless 6. (Owner of this Thread: This post can be deleted if you wish.)
Umm, wow!!! Spectacular.
I have a Carl Thompson story from 20 years ago. A local guy was selling a '77, and it was a shell: no pickup or electronics, someone had cut a hole for another pickup and done a horrible job, needed a fret job, etc. $600 so I grabbed it. Called the shop, got Carl on the phone and he told me to send it up there. $1,400 later (including FedEx overnight shipping which he insisted on) he had fixed the hole with a new piece of wood, took the frets off, planed the board, re-fretted it, installed two Kent Armstrong pickups + passive electronics, and sent it back. I played it for a while, including on some gigs, but never really bonded with it. Sold it to some guy in New Jersey and made a very nice profit.

That's a really cool story and I'm happy it worked out for you! After 20 years of inflation, I don't think $1400 will get much from Carl's shop today.

Found a pic!
