Roscoe Club

I don't disagree Joe. I find sometimes the rounds are great, and sometimes the flats are great. There's no denying the growl I get with rounds on my fretted with the swamp ash body and maple board. It has a different kind of cut. My mahogany fretless is a different animal as well of course. I love how that sounds at church - depending on the tunes - as well. Then there's the fundamental thump of the P with flats. They all can work for different reasons to me.

I've debated trying flats on my fretted 5. Maybe someday, but I am pretty happy with the sounds I can get from the 3 basses I have now and how they're set up. I have the "Steve" tone with each. That's Steve's "P bass" tone. That's Steve's "fretless" sound. That's Steve's "fretted extended 5 string" tone. SLight variations within each gives me some nice options.

Like when I used the P for jazz last weekend. I adjusted my righthand position, dialed the tone back a little, and got a pretty convincing "upright" kind of sound. It's fun to play around and see how much you can get from a good bass.

Gaining more and more appreciation for my only Roscoe...Classic P4 (passive only) ...quite versatile tones can be dialed up!

I’d be tempted to order another Classic, if 5 string, 34”, 19mm bridge, 1-7/8” nut, and unlined fretless ebony fb were available? (I don’t really “need“ another bass though!:)). I’m afraid to call Keith, he might say “yes”...

Makes me :roflmao::laugh::roflmao::D:roflmao: every time!! The writing is always on the wall!

Seeing so many of his “Best bass evarrrr!” posts, followed by “For sale because____...” posts has basically taught me a new language. I can predict how long it’ll take to go up for sale based on his verbiage once he gets it and plays it.

Maybe dude needs to stop buying basses and invest in some lessons instead.

Something, something XYZ. Here we go again. Yep, that Nordie setup would likely make a 2x4 bass sound great.

As far as Barts getting lost in a band mix? You're kidding right? Thousands of happy Bart users across many bass brands will disagree. And, yet you contradict and disagree with your own recent prior comments about Roscoe Barts being "the best you've ever heard."

Maybe someone would benefit from trained, competent FOH engineers helping them with their sound? Otherwise, a poor carpenter blames his tools.

Weren't some of your custom spec'd Nordies just replaced with Roscoe Barts?

To clarify - is this the "best bass I ever had" that's been in the classifieds?
It's a gorgeous bass - I hope the electronics change...changes the character of the bass for you?
By the way, does Keith sound annoyed when you ask for changes on a new high end custom bass? I ask partially sarcastically but partially seriously as I am going to ask him about refinishing a newer bass I bought (but bought used). I'm not big on the color but love the bass.

Maybe you and a few more need to worry about your own playing and lifestyle and you might be happier. Most of how you guys continually make fun of people is what's wrong with our society today.

This is aimed at quite a few of the ones always on here making fun of people. You are exactly why I'm canceling my Subscription. I would never talk about or make fun of any of you all and would never allow my kids to do it either.
I'm honestly sorry this is causing you to cancel. But to correct a few things, I'm on here a lot with my stay at home situation and I don't see people getting made fun of hardly ever. You are the exception but look back in this thread as to why.

And don't bring society into it. I would argue the issue is political corectness overdone, and overly-sensitive people looking to be offended. Some things deserve a razzing. I guess then if you can't stand the heat you have to get out of the kitchen. My buddies and I constantly give each other the business over silly stuff (yes buying and selling equipment is silly stuff and I do it to). I don't think anyone wants to see you go as I think it's entertaining . I sincerely wish you the best though.
