Yeah, that's one reason I get passive 4 strings. I like passive 4's, but also just add that Sadowsky outboard and your pretty close. Best of both worlds.

WOW!! We were down on that rabbit hole pretty deep, too! 
Excited to play my Koa Roscoe tonight with the Nordie preamp. Always a great day when you get a chance to play for the Lord.

Ha ha. Roscoe makes no preamp. Thus, no preamp is XYZ. Therefore, we are free to talk of any preamp while staying far away from the XYZ rabbit hole. .You boys are posting on the wrong thread! This one's about Roscoes!

We were down the golf hole, which is not deep and very easy to reach down to pull our ball out! 
To use that many, one should be required to take a course called "Gain Stages, EQ, and You: How to Not Totally Destroy Your Original Signal"!
With my Roscoes, I hardly move any EQ more than a pinch in any direction when performing or recording. Unless there is some reason I'm not using my amps...shaping is often needed when I play through certain brands that aren't mine so I can get what I'd call a 'good sound'.

Could be why things just don't sound right in the mix!!!
I once ruined a Pound Cake batter by mixing it too much, which I had never heard of before but can/did actually happen! It yielded horrible results.
