I use 45-125 on all of my basses, both 34” & 35” scales.
So, you are putting 45-125 on a 6 string. What’s the 6th string?

I guess that I never even considered going with lighter gauge string for my 35” scale basses. I honestly don’t feel extra tension (verses my 34” scale basses with 45-130).
That’s a bit odd too because my wife says that sometimes I’m too sensitive.:)

Man! I didn't get to spend too much time with my new to me Roscoe Custom PJ last week (prior to going out of town) but I just got through playing it for about an hour and WOW! Not only does it play great (like a Roscoe) but the tones I can get with the PJ configuration are awesome. I've heard mixed reviews on the Aguilar PJ configuration but I've got to say that I love the blend of the P and J pickups. I've heard a few state that they had trouble blending them (on the Classic) without the P overwhelming the bridge J but this bass doesn't exhibit any signs of that. As a matter of fact adding a little P p/u blended with the J is probably my favorite sound right now.

A special thanks to Adam (@steelin4u ) and Fritz ( @staccatogrowl ) for pushing me over the edge on the Roscoe P/J (Fritz for sending me the for sale link; along with Shane ( @Bassworship1 ) and Adam for breaking down the sound of his 2 PJ Roscoes in a PM.
Just another reason this Roscoe thread is so great. The people!:)

Since I helped find it I think it's only fair I get partial custody. Weekends should be fine lol. Glad your liking it brother.

So glad you are digging and enjoying your Roscoe PJ, @Joe BassPlayer!!! :thumbsup: Now when the planets align properly with Keith's World you will have Blondie back to help drench you in Roscoe Utopia!!

A bit of a side note:
Some of you may recall back in November 2020 I posted (#16205) about having a heavy heart and that we have lost a good one, then played it off as a joke? Well, that was about Joe!! He was drifting too far away from Roscoe and down to his last one (Blondie) with talk about selling it. :rollno:

Welp, Joe is back in town with a renewed Roscoe love! :thumbsup:

Joe, I think you should send suitable for framing pictures of Candy to them, but not the PJ! They may keep it too long and I won't get a chance to play it!! :)

Yeah. That was just a bad day or week Ray. I haven’t been without a Roscoe in 25 years. In reality I’d never be able to sell Blondie (although I’m beginning to wonder if she’s ever coming home).
I’m totally stoked now to have 2 Roscoes again and don’t ever see that changing. As a matter of fact, going forward, I doubt that I’ll ever change the current line up of my basses. I’ve got the 2 Roscoes, a Fender Elite P/J, a MM HH5 and a Warmoth Gecko 5 fretless. Love them all and can get pretty much any bass sound I can imagine out of at least one of them.
You might save that I’ve got the basses covered.
