I really don’t “need” more than one of mine. Could probably learn to “get by” with any of them. I’m glad I don’t have to. Sometimes I think I’d like another 1 or 2 more, but that would just be gratuitous at this point. I already have a hard time some Sundays deciding what to bring. The cover band is pretty easy - fretted 5. Jazz gigs are often the P with flats for standards, either the fretted or fretless 5 for contemporary stuff. Singer/songwriter gets a mix.

I dropped an Aguilar PJ set in a passive Franken-Fender I put together last year and like them a lot. I can imagine they’d sound great in a Roscoe! I can get a lot of different usable tones from them. I just put a set of Fender 9050ML flats on it and so far am liking that combination a lot.Man! I didn't get to spend too much time with my new to me Roscoe Custom PJ last week (prior to going out of town) but I just got through playing it for about an hour and WOW! Not only does it play great (like a Roscoe) but the tones I can get with the PJ configuration are awesome. I've heard mixed reviews on the Aguilar PJ configuration but I've got to say that I love the blend of the P and J pickups. I've heard a few state that they had trouble blending them (on the Classic) without the P overwhelming the bridge J but this bass doesn't exhibit any signs of that. As a matter of fact adding a little P p/u blended with the J is probably my favorite sound right now.
A special thanks to Adam (@steelin4u ) and Fritz ( @staccatogrowl ) for pushing me over the edge on the Roscoe P/J (Fritz for sending me the for sale link; along with Shane ( @Bassworship1 ) and Adam for breaking down the sound of his 2 PJ Roscoes in a PM.
Just another reason this Roscoe thread is so great. The people!
But I don’t think the sound on my bass is as good as the Roscoe Classic PJ with Honey Badgers that I played at Rocket a few years ago. That one still haunts me as one that got away.

I've heard great thins about the Honey Badger p/u's (although I've never heard them). I guess that they are still out of business?
Regardless, I'm a firm believer that the sum of the parts is where the magic is so since I'm totally digging the sound of the Aggie combo in the Roscoe PJ, I'll leave everything as is (at least until I get restless one day).

I could go after this year. I'd still need to find some supplemental income as I have 2 kids and like to vacation in Phoenix. I'm better off keeping this fairly easy (all tings considered) job that I don't hate yet and do it for a while longer (or until budget cuts get me) and build up my pension and get closer to SS and medicare. Fortunately mu wife is younger so I can mooch off her benefits for a while if I need to.

I didn’t mind though. I liked her being at home.

I think a 5 string jazz (Century body) or 4 sting (classic) would be cool but I have gone away from jazz bass tone lately after using one for many years. If I weren't playing Roscoe I'd probably be playing Lakland basses. Really liked them before I found Roscoe. This would be a great combination of the two...

My wife is 6 years younger and I told her to continue to work at her easy job that she enjoys for benefits and for something to keep her busy, since she doesn’t have a hobby. Retirement and boredom is like oil and vinegar!

Studio day, Roscoeheads! Representing the R with my Century St+ JB fretless. I got my new-to-me signature fretless 6 in on Thursday, but I'm not 'one' with it yet the way I am with the JB fretless. It's almost go time! This pic is from my office, not a studio:

It's a similar but opposite red to yellow fade of the 2016 NAMM PJ that I just received. It also appears to have a Pau Ferro finger board too.
