A question for @Joe BassPlayer (and anyone else who has done it)- is it worth getting the switch to select between the dual coil and quad coil on the Roscoe quad coil pickups? Since I can never leave well enough alone… I doubt I’d get holes drilled, probably just do a push/pull for both of them on the blend pot.

I did it on one Roscoe Matt. It was the LG-3006 that I installed a Pope Flex Core preamp in and it sounded really good. As I remember, the switch was a DPDT and it did both p/u's and I believe that it actually went from single coil to dual coil.
That Pope preamp sounded really good too! By far the most versatile preamp that I've ever installed in a Roscoe. It could easily overwhelm anyone that was a "plug and play" kind of player though. Lots of sounds to choose from.

That’s a pretty tight squeeze there. I’ll have to do some research, although I wouldn’t be the one doing the work (i am a terrible solderer). In theory it’s a pretty easy tweak, not much risk involved either.

I've had 2 XYZ basses with Bart quads and either 3-way or 2-way switching, and loved it. I am a professed single-coil (or split coil) fan...until the sound isn't thick enough, and basically only then will I use humbuckers. If you like the versatility of having options, you'll love it. Push/pull is a great low-impact mod like you mentioned. I still haven't gotten around to the mod myself, so I just resoldered my 5 string signature quads so that they are permanently split 'single' coils.

I know @SteveC will add in about his switch love!

I do like my little toggles. It makes a big difference in sound. I considered having the mod done to my fretted 5 as well.

This was recorded last night with part of our band with a cell phone. Out Lead singer wrote this and it was first time playing. This is the Buckeye Burl Roscoe bass with Nordie DC pups and preamp using only the FOH fees of the Khan Tube DI. It will take earbuds to hear good.

Nice warm tone. Arthur sent me a clip of one of their services where he used his Box elder burl Roscoe and the Khan DI and it had the same nice tubey texture. Those boxes are definitely nice. Thx for sharing.
I love the warm rustic look of the stage too.

Well Dennis @bassWR dropped by this afternoon and let me check out his Roscoe Classic PJ. Really nice! Beautiful blue finish!
Not sure what happened, but after he left I went back upstairs and his Roscoe was still in the stand. I guess we got to talking too much and he didn’t notice how light the empty case was!
Should I call and tell him or just wait for him to figure it out?:D
