I agree with Gard. Beer does not become beer until around 7% and above. I am partial to big, hoppy IPA's, Saison's, Belgian strong golden ale and Belgian Trippel's. I will basically drink anything Belgian style and strong!

There's a place in my neighborhood in NYC that sells high end craft beer. It's also a tasting room with like 14 beers on tap. They fill 64oz. growlers to go also. Gotta get a refill soon. What shall it be? Brooklyn Blast or River Horse Trippel horse or maybe some Bronx Pale Ale... Jealous yet?

Damon, I'm not a HUGE fan of most IPA's, but have found a few that do suit me from time to time - I don't care for it when it tastes and smells like someone just stuck a bouquet of flowers in my mouth.

The rest, we definitely agree: gimme ANYTHING Belgian.

I also love stouts and porters - I've really gotten into coffee stouts lately. I LOVE this one:

It's got enough coffee flavor to wake you up!

Tell you what Gard, if I'm happy with the care package you guys send me in a few weeks, I'll send you some of my "little friends". Show you how we do things in New Yawk!

The quality of poitín was highly variable, depending on the skill of the distiller and the quality of his equipment. If poorly produced, it can contain dangerous amounts of methanol and can blind or kill. In 2007, samples were found to contain chicken droppings.

That said, any Irishman worth his salt will be able to find the proper quality stuff.

I am toying with the idea of having a beer cellar myself. I'm just afraid it will turn into "the place I used to keep the beer I just drank".
