Yum!

I am obsessed with a buckeye burl roscoe, and this isn't helping!

I've got some exciting news to share sometime soon. Let's just say it involves Roscoe, Rocket Music, Buckeye Burl and a Limited Edition run of Standard Plus basses!

I've got to get a couple ducks in a row before making a more detailed announcement, but this is a done deal. Basses are on order, I'm just waiting on the first one to arrive and I need to finalize pricing.

Here's how the first one looks so far. It'll be a 5-string fretless with matching headstock, black hardware, Aguilar DCB pickups and Aguilar OBP-3 preamp. We'll be calling it something like "Rocket Music Limited Edition". At least 10 of these basses will eventually roll through my store in a variety of body shapes and number of strings.

EDIT: And just as a ballpark - these will sell right around $3K, depending on how many strings...

Daaannngggg!

Wardrobe malfunction!

:D

God Bless, Ray

Ooh! Will said "Rocket Music Limited Edition" basses feature matching headstocks? Fretted an option by chance? Is that mahogany I see for the body wood?

I had an Aguilar DCB equipped model bouncing around my head, and I'm always a sucker for some buckeye.

Yes's all around. Most of them will be fretted, and all will have matching headstocks and mahogany bodies. Mostly 5-strings, but some 4's and 6's, too...

Looking through pics to add to my For Sale thread and found this one from a fill in gig.

Trying to sell the fretted Koa to buy Jon's 6'er but the pair of oil finished natural wood looks nice, too.

I wanted to post these two pics because of a discussion I've been having elsewhere. I haven't had my Roscoe JJ as long as some other basses I've owned, but I've put more hours on her in these few years than just about any other bass. So these two pictures show what work looks like - skin and dents.
