Always better to have too much and not use it, than not enough and not be able to use it. Taking both is excessive, but if the room is available, go for it.
Drummers have no idea how loud things are out front. Ignore him. Guitarists and singers will have very different opinions when the drummer starts thumping.

After much debate here I went with the 2X10, there was a few reasons. Later that night I went into a slight manic fit and almost went with the 800 head and and a few cabs. I quickly deleted that post and one or two guys talked me down. ( but I'm still contemplating the 800 in secret) The 15 should give you some good thump and a nice blend !!!! Here's a recording of tonight first time I ever heard myself. Not close to perfect but got it done nice I think. Great Bunch of guys, I see a lot of Tuesday nights here in the future we'll polish up...
