RUSH Clockwork Angels

Wow ... just found this thread ... had no idea about the new recording.

" ... you can make the most of the distance. First you need endurance .. first you gotta last ... "

Anything I say will simply be echoing what all the rest of the fans of these guys have said ... not even sure why I'm posting this other than to express gratitude for yet another wonderful group of songs from one of my all time favorite bands.

I can only sit and wish that I had the grand ability to make incredible music over decades of the huge ups and quite serious lows that this trio of humans has endured. We all owe the universe a grand thank you for putting these three particular people together in this particular time for this particular reason. It's nearly as if the universe willed it to be.

.....And +1000000 on what you said, Flux. I agree.
Wow .. thanks! Most people just think of me as a nonsensical bigmouthed moron. I'm glad something I said landed ~true~ with someone for once!

:)

PS: I'm like envious as hells over you guys that are getting the new album early. I'm just dyin' to hear it! I hope it is what I'm hoping it is (whu?). I've been listening to a bunch of pre-Power Windows stuff as a primer! I read where Alex commented about it being another concept record. Killa!!!!

Can't wait!!! :hyper:

THere are 30 second snippets of all the songs on Walmart.com:

I just listened to all 12 snips ... oh HELLS yea baby!

So far, for the most part it has that ethereal 2112 smell to it. And Geddy's bass is back, kids!!! "The Voice" .. that bass voice .. it's back. I've been so dissapointed in his bass tone since he picked up a Wahl (er ~Wal~ or whatever it is). And the nasally sound he'd adopted in the first decade of the new millenium kinda sucked too. But from the teensy little sniff that the Wal Mart cuts offer ... the voice is back!

Oh man, I'm hurtin! Couple the want of the new record along with the new preamp I got in today which marries with my bass and amp PERFECTLY and I'm jonesin' for some new Rush!!!!

I'm kinda glad they've never made it into the Hall of Fame .. that fact alone is an example of how insignificant that list of artists is.

Holy CATS I wish I had their ability to make such in-frelling-credible music and recordings. I wonder what it must be like knowing that what you produce in life is loved by so many other humans? And that the productions you offer affect the way people live, how they see the world, and even how they grow up. When I was young, the lyric "... if you chose not to decide you still have made a choice! ..." was like this ~anthem~ for me (pun intended). And songs like "Circumstances" and "Witch Hunt" and of course "Subdivisions" became these nearly religious forms of mental anchors for me. And being an avid motorcycle racer/rider, the song "Red Barchetta" still - to this day - sends goosebumps up and down my skin as the words describe the high-speed run with phrases like ".. Sunlight on chrome, the blur of the lanscape, every nerve aware!..".

To have that kind of influence on people, to be able to relate to them via words and music. It's a gift that nearly anyone that plays an instrument or writes poetry wishes they had.

And yet, they don't put out the vibe of "we're just so bitchen". They know who they are, and what they can do, but they've not seemed to take themselves too seriously.

We've been blessed. I feel fortunate.

I don't know everything I see says June 12. I haven't seen anything that refers to July. I'm debating waiting until it comes out in stores, unless it was very far after June 12, but I can't seem to find when that is.

No, what I'm referring to is when the pre-sale fan pack was on sale, it said it would be released a month early compared to the regular release. So that's what I'm going on. I haven't seen a definite date for the U.S.
