RUSH Freewill

never realized how big of difference wiring in stereo does.
the tone you created is what i have been searching for, ill have to remember that.
i have a cheap jazz i could totally do this to.
searched for a diagram, is it vastly different than a mono output?

I had a pro do the wiring. It's pretty hairy. He got a dual mono/stereo jack from a supplier on the east coast because Rickenbacker was out of their stock of dual jacks.

yeah, not sure i would want to tackle that one myself.

It's a bit...involved but it's well worth it.
You can almost follow some of the wires in that pic., but I'm not the best at wiring diagrams. I can solder all day. I gave the job to a buddy that does excellent work with wiring. I'm going to give him my Wal bass to do the same thing for. I'll have him remove the XLR output and install the stereo output there instead. I hope the active electronics dont make that wiring job a nightmare for him.

I have improved the audio/video quality and the synch is now correct.
This one is better to watch...

Absolutely killer song and I'm glad you put it out there. I learned it a few months ago and love it. Awesome tone on your bass too. I have an SX Jazz and would love to try your stereo setup on it. I may PM you for more info on it.

You don't really appreciate Geddy's playing and bass work until you dig into a lot of Rush's songs and play them live. I have so much fun learning them that I put together a Rush Jam band. I was fortunate enough to find a killer guitar player and then a drummer that were willing to meet once in a while and just play Rush tunes for a few hours.

I've just added a synth and pedals and I'm currently working on Camera Eye. What a challenge, but I'm getting it to work somehow...:crying:

Thanks for the compliments.
I envy you with your Rush jam band. It must be exciting to be able to play that stuff with two compitent misicians.
Good for you!
