What plucking technique are you using at 3:45 and again(?) at 3:55? It kind of sounds like sweep picking.
Awesome job! I hate most of these play along videos but this one is way too good.
I'm currently learning this song for part of my IB...
This is a damn sight better than mine'll be.

What's an IB??

Pre-University course, for 11th+12th grade. I'm taking music as one of my courses and as part of our assessment, we need 15 minutes of recorded performance on our chosen instrument.

Ahhh I understand.
So it's Freewill and By-Tor & The Snow Dog then!!![]()
Great tone. What was your setup? Did you run two amps and/or effects on separate pickups? Im just starting to mess with Ric-o-Sound on my new Ric and Im always interested to hear how people are running things.
are you also playing synth pedals too?
I have the Jazz Bass wired in stereo with each pickup going to their own GK MBE III combo amp. The bridge pickup has the treble cut a bit and the bass up a bit with the mids about flat with just a tad more lo-mid than hi-mid. The neck pickup has a bit more mids than the bridge but the treble and bass are the same as for the bridge pickup settings. The contour setting is around 10:30 on each amp as well. I ran the two signals post-EQ to a small Samson Mixpad 9 and then out to the VCR.
The bridge pickup is in the left channel and the neck pickup is on the right. I didn't pan them hard left/right, I left just a tad of bleed but not much so I would have good seperation.
No effects at all.
Dumb question here....VCR?
Stereo jack-> EQ -> Mixpad -> GK MBE's ???
