S/D Bassists #86 - Dollar Tree Romance

So, I think I am going to let go of my Digitech Bass synth. My guitatr player mentioned how crappy it tracked and it had been bothering me too. It add so much depth, but not worth the crummy delay between the actual not being played vs the synth.

If I sold the digitech, what would be something that is in the same budget that could thicken the sound out? Or is this a unicorn I am chasing?

Looks like they go anywhere from $45 to $60.

My friend invited some chick he found to my house from the bar last night, and I wasn't crazy drunk, but she leaned in to ask if it was ok with me, and I just kissed her. Then we wind up back at my place and my friend has no idea I did that, so he starts talking and she asks to go to bed and has me take her to one...

Well I realized soon I had no means of protection and knew not even a name... While that wouldn't be terrible she also was not on BC so meh just a funny story now...

Any tips on how to get her up and gone? She's laying down next to me...

Lol. I'd put an eye on her drivers license. Make it easy to find her later if you need to. Or fb friend her. Just tell her you need to go to work. Should provide a quick exit.

Also, pics or...

Lay down another hundred and get you a Foxroc Octron, my favorite pedal.

Never seen one in person before. It's huge. They're only asking $130 for it, anyone in the market for one?

I've heard good things about the behringer boss clone, especially if you have an expression pedal to go with it.

I have one now set for space ship mode with the feedback looper. I was actually thinking of another one for my budget.

I now need to use the Speakon connectors on the Carvin cabs due to a loose 1/4" connector that is hard wired to a circuit board that the speakers wires hook to. Plus the jack plate is such a weird size, not sure how I could rig it.

GK's tend to sound like GK's I guess that's kind of redundant, my guitarist has that exact same 400 in his guitar rig. Sounds great, pure old SS power. Haven't used it on bass, but I bet it sounds great.

I never played one of those old 400 but I am loving my 700RB. Now to figure out what sort of overdrive to pair with it. I am using an Ultimate Drive right now which works okay but I think there are better more responsive overdrives out there.

Farting, lots of farting.

I already had... Idk who she was and I couldn't just leave her in the room, so soon as I knew it wasn't going that far... I readjusted to silently disperse the gas welling in my colon from the 120-140 oz of beer I drank and a burrito.

Clip your nails and make sure the clippings land on her...

Lol... Well I ended up getting up and cleaning house and throwing crap all over to make noise then said "oh were all going to eat, I'm going to drop you off first though..." And we did. Then Juan in a million for the best breakfast taco ever.

Well I rather not see her again lol, kinda boring and weird humor, to the point I didn't laugh at something and she asked if I had Aspergers loll.

Lol I have a terrible pic of the side of her... Not worth getting uploaded, I somehow managed to take a picture of a skinny lady whose body was all tattoos and make her look like chubby untatooed teenager...

Ohh and she sat upfront with me on the way from the bar in Austin to my place in RR. Mind you she got in a car with three strange dudes which is ballsy for a chica, but at least we're good people... And she asked three times if I was gonna kill her or rape her, finally after the third time asking I just said "I haven't made up my mind" which she laughed at lol thank god.

What are guitar players using now? You have basically a whole new setup, did they get jealous of your GAS?

Nah not really, I've re did my whole rig over the last few months but the guitars have been pretty consistent for awhile.

Nick - Sound City 200 & GK 400RB, 2 Emperor 6x12's - Rat, FZ-2, Carbon Copy, DD-6

Dennis - Dean Markley DB bass preamp, Marshall JCM900, Acoustic 220 - Acoustic oversized 2x15 and 4x12. Digitech digiverb, digi delay, and Boss DD-6

Laz, that's the new moog drive pedal. I tried one out at shop but couldn't find anything I liked, however I've read some people are really digging them for bass, it's got a ladder filter on board so you can make it like a wah with an exp pedal. I only messed with it for a couple of minutes, so it's possible they're pretty cool.

Interesting. I probably won't pick it up. I would like some kind of filter pedal at some point, but another dirt pedal is the last thing I need right now.
