Not doom or metal, but easily the most interesting person making music today IMO. Shows that you can make "pop songs" but still be super intresting, musical, intelegent, and catchy. Plus tons of great fuzz tones and huge moog synth all over the record.

I'm a huge fan of everything she's been a part of, but with 2 listens I have no hesitation saying this is her best record to date.

I have one of the plastic pedals on my board. As long as it's velcro'd down, with a protective case for the board, and not at the beginning or end of the signal chain (connectors can wear out quick) then you shouldn't have any trouble. A lot of caveats, but I haven't had any trouble with mine.

It's the digital multi-fx one, it's got 7 or 8 not-so-super effects in one small enclosure. I only keep it around for the delay, which is set to max repeats for oscillations. Due to a quirk in the design, the delay is always "recording", even if the unit is bypassed. So I'll kick it on at the end of a song and it's instantly repeating everything that I played for the last few minutes. This turns into an incomprehensible wash of distorted low frequency noise, but that sounds pretty cool when pushed through phaser, flanger and another delay pedal. I haven't been able to find another delay that does the same thing so the cheapo behringer stays.

Well after a quick search no dice on an easy to come by affordable Short scale j bass.

The blacked out short scale squier jag might be my best option at less than $200 new. I'd just need to cut a new pickguard to plop a new set of J's in it instead of PJ.

On the same tone search, I was looking at the iron ether xerograph, but it's quite pricey, just to be turning it down for that dubby low, is there anything else than can get me that sound? Should I get another mole? DOD Meat box?

that is mostly due to the 3 clickless relay circuits in there. Else it would have been much easier and simpler to build. Probably a 1590BB sized building instead of a 1790NS.

I also included extras per customer request such as phase flip and ground lift for both outputs, tuner out, ect

Meat Box sounds only like itself IMO. Just a total subbed out, punch you in the lower abdominal "tone." It gets lower and hits harder than any octave pedal I've tried. Why I sold mine I have no idea. :bawl:

I'm on my second vibrato. The first one took a sh!t for seemingly no reason.

The tuners, bridges, and strings are where they save the money. Electronics are decent stock, I ever felt the need to replace them when I had my fretless P from rondo.

There's a blend on it, but, yeah, when the Meat Box is at it's best it's replacing tone with sub blasting. Check out Sub Wars over at Juan Alderete's blog. Headphones don't do it justice, but it's cool. When I used it live I would just use it mostly in trashcan/rockstar outros to sub out the PA.

Saw her with David Byrne last year in a classy theater-style venue, I walked away feeling like I've never seen a live show that that in every aspect. I already liked their eclectic music, but the performance and showmanship of every musician on stage blew me away. Amazing choreography with their brass section, and David and Annie knew how to play the crowd. I was glad David Byrne hasnt lost it at all since the Talking Heads days
