Yeah, I saw them twice on that tour. It was quite the show, once from the floor and once from the balcony of the venue. It was pretty awesome seeing how the choreography changed from the different vantage point was pretty neat.

Lol I have their $70 18" sub in my cart right now. I thought you were hatin on em a bit last time I mentioned them? The 15" MCM woofers I put in my 2x15 sounded really good the last 2 practices, they're dedicated woofers but have a pretty sweet breakup with some power behind em. I dont think they'd do hi-fi crisp bass very well, but for downtuned heavy blues and sludge they kick ass.

I got another Sunn 2x15 that turns out to be a guitar cab rather than bass... if I can get the speakers working I'll run my Butcher through it and run a real bi-amp setup. Otherwise its getting 2 more MCMs and I'll run a 4x15 out of the Acoustic... I'd be happy either way!

The 18" is to fill the Peavey cab I blew to shreds, I dont necessarily need it right now but I hate having cabs lying around that don't work, it'd be worth more to put in a cheap speaker and sell than to sell an empty cab. But a crossed over 18" cab is a funky tool and I'd probably keep it in my basement even if I didnt have an immediate use.

Been listening to Spirit Caravan all day. Probably the Wino band I've listened to the least, but I'm really feeling it today. Just the right balance of driving beats and dirty grooves at the moment.

Just had a weird discussion with my wife. Apparently she has never had to pass a drug test for work. Ever.
She doesn't smoke.
Every real job I've ever had did at least initial if not random.
Anybody else have a gracious work policy and NOT take advantage of it?

I work with my family and we don't test, but no one uses, in fact I think my mom is the only one in our family who even drinks. I used to partake a lot on weekends, but was never the every day/wake n bake type (since I've had this job). Haven't smoked at all in at least 5 years though. I don't think they'd care at all. I've never had a test at any job actually and I probably would have failed every one before 2005ish if I had. Most of the jobs I worked before I got married were waiting tables, gas stations, grocery stores, etc. and no one really cared. One of those jobs I used to smoke with coworkers and it was nowhere near the worst sh*t people were doing on the job there.

Jug Fulla Sun - despite it's horrible name - is an amazing album. My favorite local bar has it in the jukebox and i always play a few tracks from it while I'm there. . Dead Love / Jug Fulla Sun and No Hope Goat farm are personal favorites, but the whole thing is great. I was less impressed with The Elusive Truth, it didn't have the positive vibes that the first album did.

Only job I ever had that tested was Best Buy, and that was part of a pre-employment screening and I never got tested again.

So engineering multi-million dollar mobile command vehicles for federal law enforcement agencies, no big deal. Selling laptops to kids going to college, my piss better be clean!

Definitely don't get tested at my current job. Actually my senior engineer openly talks to our boss about how he smokes all the time and no one really cares. He's been there for like 25 years so it's not like they'd fire him over it now. Plus it is a university. There's a guy in my department who clearly smokes in his car on the way to work and then douses himself with cologne. If you can smell him in the hallway 5 minutes after he's been there, you know he smoked on his way to work.

This still baffles me. Such an invasion of privacy. Testing never happens here.

Thats a link to the new St Vincent record streaming today.

Not doom or metal, but easily the most interesting person making music today IMO. Shows that you can make "pop songs" but still be super intresting, musical, intelegent, and catchy. Plus tons of great fuzz tones and huge moog synth all over the record.

I'm a huge fan of everything she's been a part of, but with 2 listens I have no hesitation saying this is her best record to date.
