Cool! This ones better than my subs because it has an electronic pickup and comes with chords so I don't have to play them myself! I guess that's like those organs that auto harmonize chords from bass lines?
Funny! Lol

C'mon, you can never have too many chords. BTW dk, after getting my SUB5 back from the luthier, I am glad we didn't swap bodies. I'm actually in love with the blue. Thank you for not being as impulsive as me and having the rational state of mind to tell me "no thanks".I'll post some pics soon.
I guess this will be the mystery SUB...
I received my S.U.B. and I want to give my first impressions...First off, I have owned two Stingray's so I believe I can compare the S.U.B. with them. My S.U.B. has a born on date of 07/01/03, making it a first year S.U.B. First thing I noticed was the slab body. I am used to having a belly and arm cutaway, not a big deal. I am not sure what I think about the paint/color. It definitely is different, especially the textured paint. Another thing is that crazy Diamond Plate pickguard. I don't know if I like it or not, but it is original and I am probably going it keep it that way. Now onto the bass itself...I did a complete setup on the bass and all I can say is it plays fantastic. The neck feels exactly like my old Stingray, which I love. The electronic are spot on, again same as my old Stingray. I really love the two band preamp...it really hits the sweet spot. With all that said, I am very pleased with the bass. It feels good, sounds great, and is a heck of a good deal if you can find a good one used. I can see why people keep these basses...Its hard to find this quality for such a great price.

Nice!
Mine has a "compensated nut". How come yours doesn't? I thought all SUBs had 'em?

Ive been playing my sub5 for about a week love it to death. .but to me the g string spacing seems a bit wider than the rest..seen a pic if another 5 and noticed the same thing..has anyone else noticed this?
Not on mine.... But I wish ebmm would put the g string a little further from the edge of the fingerboard. All ebmm I've played seem to be like that and I pull the string off the fingerboard when moving from other basses to my ebmms.
That is literally the only very minor design choice that i dislike in these things and the $2k classics have it as well.
Thats exactly what im talking about
.so im not crazy..why would ebmm design it that way. .it's just plain crazy..I wonder if a luthier can fix it?
I had a bone nut put on mine due to a trying to put a b string in the e string slot incident. it helped alleviate the problem slightly

Funny, I thought I was the only one pulling the g string out from the nut too!
Do you have a five string?
