S.U.B. Club

3 bills. Really, a great price for what you're getting. No string to fret buzz, the fret ends felt great and the neck was very comfortable. I really liked it but again, even at that price I just can't justify buying another bass.

Yeah, I paid $500 for my SUB5, and feel it's worth every penny... If I didn't already have three 5 strings, I'd be looking to grab it...

Are you sure you're talking about one of these:

$300 at GC?
I'm not sure we're talking about the same instruments.
I think you are talking about the new series by SBMM, not the older US SUBs, made between 2003-2006, which is what this thread is about.
Very different instruments, but sharing the name does not help against confusion...

Probably somewhere in this thread - IME, all three of my SUBs were wired in parallel from the factory, and have been switched over to series... Switching them to series boosted their output slightly, boosted mids and lows a little, and tamed the brightness a little - all desireable outcomes, IMO/IME...

I'll search to see if I can find some wiring diagrams..I have dean markley blue steels on my white sub and it gives it a nice mid range thump without the super bright top end...

It is confusing. All I know is that on the headstock it said S.U.B. If it said more than that then I really can't remember. But the price was $300.00. Sorry if I confused anyone.

Nothing to apologize for, bud - it IS a confusing naming system... If it didn't look like the one in my pic, it wasn't an MIA SUB 5 - the reason I asked was that I've been watching for MIA SUBs on GC's used gear pages, and I didn't see a SUB 5...

Thanks bud. Okay, I googled "S.U.B. 5" to find out exactley what is was I tried out and found out it was the "Sterling by Music Man S.U.B. Ray 5. Looks nothing like the bass in your pic. Differant body style and differant pickguard. Nice playing bass for the bucks!

We need to see if the admins can rename this to "USA SUB Club"

That would eliminate all the confusion.

As an owner of a US made SUB I welcome the imports as they are also excellent vehicles and in no way detract from the perceived value of the US models.

Right. But this thread is about usa models and this isn't clear from the title.

Haha I sound like tufnel...

Clear explanation by interviewer of making 10 louder being easier.....
......Hesitation... "THESE go to 11"

That this thread is about the older models by EBMM is not judgement on the value of the new SBMM line.
It's just that if you want a thread about blue basses, it makes no sense to mix red ones too.
Old and new SUBs only share the name: different woods, electronics, shape, construction... Different company, in fact.
So... ;)
