Well, do you want a Made in the USofA bass that's built like a tank? Or do you want something that was made in parts unknown with parts unknown?

Sound is just sound. Any deficiencies in tone are usually operator error (myself included).

What does everyone think of tort pickguard on this real green finish? I have a tort in order to try.

Yeah just curious about what's out there that's affordable! If my bank account looked a little fatter I'd love a made in 'Merica tank bass but its lookin sort of Lindsay lohanish and well, GAS.
How parts unknowny are the parts would be a better question then I guess

Cool and I am with you regarding tort. Actually I hated it and now love it so I kinda went the other way with it.

That said I bought it going from memory and thinking he picture I quoted earlier was with a tort guard and not a Pearl guard. The pearl defitely looks great. Dunno, I might need one of each!

This bass is now in my possession and going back to the Guitar Center Monday. Way too rough for my taste and I cannot get all the grime off of it. So I guess it is getting returned a second time.

No it is just more chewed up than j thought and quite grimes. And for some reason the grime is not removable even with naphtha. Can't go to work with the clear coat compounds as this doesn't have a clear coat. Would be a great candidate for me refin project save for the way it is priced.

That's a shame. How did you think it sounded? I wasn't that happy with it. Kinda nasal.

Awesome but you've GOT to get countersunk pickguard screws for those. Those pinhead screws are designed for the flat non-countersunk pickguards and will absolutely shred your fingers the first time you try to slap.

Hadn't noticed that. I don't slap right up at the neck. But your point is well taken and I should probably get flat screws because the will look better!
