SA C4 with DMC Micro - "Latency"?

Update: Switching out the USB cable worked. No more noise. Now I have another question. Is there a way to set the DMC Micro so it only scrolls between presets without switching the pedal on? Right now I'm using the footswitch on the C4 for on and off so there's no latency, but I'm sometimes engaging it by accident with my foot.

Bypass the C4 using the DMC bypass command (holding the switch down). This tells the DMC what recall state you want. Then you use the C4 switch to engage. I thought I brought this up already in the thread.

Just read through the entire thread again. Still don't get it. Looked at the manual too. Maybe it's there but I'm not seeing it. Is this something I need to do on the C4 or can I program the DMC Micro to "not engage" – only change presets?

If I understand what you're asking, you can change the setting of each patch in the C4 so that its default state is bypassed. In the Neuro editor, look for 'preset recall state' in the 'routing & options' section and set it to bypassed. Once you've done that, you can scroll through your presets on the DMC without activating them.

Yes, that is what I'm asking. Seems like kind of a hassle to change all my presets, but if that's the only way to do it, I will. Still hoping there's a way to turn off this function on the Micro itself. Maybe I'll reach out to the Disaster Area guys. They helped me bring my controller back from the dead when I thought it was cooked.

In “Device Mode” (the mode where you are just scrolling through the list of internal presets on the C4), using the DMC to bypass or engage the C4 is actually choosing the bypass state signal that the DMC will stay on while you scroll. When you use the DMC to engage the C4 using a long-hold of one of the buttons, it should engage a little dot on the screen of the DMC. If you use the DMC to bypass then this dot goes away. So if the dot is not one the screen, when you scroll through presets then the C4 should automatically get a bypass message.

I recently got a DMC.micro and have been testing it with some Source Audio stuff. The weirdest thing I've found so far is that when I scroll through presets in "device mode" on either the Ventris or Nemesis, the pedal alternates between bypassed and engaged on each step. For example, with a Nemesis listening on channel 1 and "DevA" set to "NEMS" in the DMC:

If I send A1, the Nemesis switches to preset 1 and turns on.
If I send A2, the Nemesis switches to preset 2 and bypasses.
If I send A3, the Nemesis switches to preset 3 and turns on.
If I send A4, the Nemesis switches to preset 4 and bypasses.

On, off, on, off, on, off, etc.

The dot for DevA remains on throughout. If I long press the left switch, it does toggle the dot off and on, and the pedal to the opposite state. But it's backwards on the even numbered values because the light always starts in an "on" position even though the pedal is bypassing when it receives the even numbered values.

What am I missing? Is this a Source Audio thing or a DMC thing?

Just wanted to update this old thread in case anyone finds it in a search about the DMC.micro and Source Audio pedals. I found out that the "NEMS" device type on the DMC.micro, that is intended for use on both the Ventris and Nemesis, appears to have some bugs that prevent it from being able to properly control the bypass state of the pedals. If you use the "C4" device type instead, it seems to work great.
