Sadowski... Not impressed...

So you tried and do not like....That's cool!

As it's been said by Roger {many, many times}...SadowskY's are not for everyone.

Gotta ask....

1) why mis-spell Sadowsky??

2) where in NYC did you try out a few of our basses?? It sure wasn't at the shop...we don't have a Ampeg SVT head or a Ampeg 6x10.

Rob

Funny...I was thinking the same thing! LOL! I really hate to do it because it will probably close the thread BUT....IF he had actually even SEEN a SADOWSKY or been close enough to ACTUALLY read the headstock he would not have gotten the name wrong. IF he played "a few" of them where did he play them? I bet that question won't be answered. I laugh at these dummies who do these kinds of posts because they all talk about how chunky the necks are and how there is too much "uncontrollable" low end.....First of all, Sadowskys have a 12" radius on all except the UV Metro which is 10" and the NYC Ultra Vintage which is 9". For the uneducated that is pretty darned near flat! As far as chunky....LOL! He is comparing to Warwick...and the Sadowsky is chunky??? I rest my case....When you ACTAULLY play one....JUST ONE....not a few, JUST ONE...then you can say anything you like but I have OWNED and played enough of them to call you out and tell you....you are full of it!!! I am not sure what your motivation is but take it somewhere else bro....BTW - funny you did the same thing on your "Markbass" thread??? What gives?

By posting this stuff it just shows THEY HAVE NEVER EVEN BEEN CLOSE ENOUGH TO A REAL ONE TO READ THE HEADSTOCK.....Hey dummies, as mentioned, the Pre is boost ONLY! IF you turn it up it will add up to 13db at 40hz for the technically challenged that is enough to kill most speakers at a FAIRLY loud volume. IT will also add up to 13db at 4K to be fair.... increasing both in equal amounts has the effect of "scooping" the mids to some degree. Anyone who has actually played a Sadowsky would already know these things though....

It may come as some surprise that I have owned a LOT of Sadowskys and other brands as well and the Sadowsky is NOT for everybody. BUT the Sadowsky is one of the finest instruments made....PERIOD! IF you played a Sadowsky in a retail store you HAVEN'T played a Sadowsky. You HAVE to play a Sadowsky in a gig situation in order to understand what a Sadowsky can do....

and that's all I have to say about that...

Peace,

T

Anybody notice this thread was started at 5:42 on May 4th and the OP hasn't posted any replies. I say:

IIRC, Roger started out setting up and modding Fender basses for players in New York, then decided to start making basses that were like Fenders for people who wanted a higher-quality bass with a Fender vibe. Try one of his Modern 5s if you want to stray away from the Fender sound a bit. I was not too fond of his vintage-style basses that I tried (I'm just not a vintage type of guy), but I love the sound of the Moderns, so I own two.

I normally prefer plain, painted basses, but that Koa is something to behold.

I still get the name wrong all the time. Certain Polish names end in "ski" you see. It's just a habit.

Hi

Yea. So its been established he's a troll. Lets close it

Rob

I don't know, the guy has a different opinion than most. If everyone had the same opinion, why bother with this site?

Trust me I have been around the entire world several times including numerous stints in Poland and nearly all of the old Soviet Eastern Bloc Nations...I know that names that end in ski are VERY common...my point is if he had actually had the bass in his hands, he would not have made that mistake...IF it was a mistake and not a jab....We are al entitled to our opinions and we can all play what we want. I have played enough Sadowskys to know that this guy has NOT had one in his hands just from his description, I would bet on it! There is nowhere in NYC that he would have played SEVERAL Sadowskys unless it was at the Sadowsky shop and they don't have the rig he mentioned....just makes me sick that these a holes get away with this mess in the interest of their right to their opinion....I know better than to believe that the guy has actually played one so how the hell can I respect his right to have an opinion on something I would bet he never even had his hands on?

Peace,

First time quoting myself.....

I guess nobody looked at his profile (like I did)?:spit::D

Feels good to be right for a change....:hyper:

i noticed it too... i just didn't feel like posting and being a douche because what *i* had all typed out in my head would've been a little... trollish. :hyper:

as an aside:

i've personally never played a sadowksy. i almost always play passive basses and until the vtc i really had no interest. however, once that became an option i started to the sadowsky curiosity that i'm sure 75-80% of bassists get.

in a way, someone being this lame really makes me want to check out what the hype is all about; and why there's people that obviously so filled with hate that they blast a 2k+ instrument based surely on the fact they will never have the money to buy one.

Well who knows? There's no need to assume he's a troll just because he hasn't replied within the past what... 23 or 24 hours. I don't think everyone has all the time in the world to check TB constantly or everyday or every other day? And yea... he's definitely entitled to what he thinks so there's no need for anyone to boil their blood over this IMO.

The first time I tried a Sadowsky at Bass Exchange 2 years ago... I knew nothing about them at all, and I could probably have said I could have cared less for those basses as well. The bass I tried did NOT sound amazing at all and was probably the last bass I thought I'd ever consider buying after having tried it. BUT, I went back with a 2 friends about 2 weeks ago and tried another Sadowsky Metro 4 and thought differently this time and really dug the tone of the bass this time around AND it was on the EXACT same rig I had tried my first Sadowsky on. Can't really say why I hated the first Sadowsky's tone but I know I genuinely disliked it at the time [maybe the bass was a dud or the strings were a year old or something.. who knows]

An envy-coping mechanism, maybe.

Well, like pointed out earlier, he doesn't even play the basses he says he'll stick to, according to his profile. And saying is a Sadowsky neck is chunkier than... a Warwick? :eyebrow:

Except for the fact that if you look at his profile he was on the board last night 5/5 and made his first post on 5/4.
