Just for your info, guys, the single coils from Sadowsky have a bright and shiny top to the cover. The HC's dont. They are a regular black matte, no sheen. Thats the fastest way to tell, unless you pan the knob and hear some hiss. LOL

Hey Rob,
My circa 2000 NYC has matte finished tops and when I talked to Roger, he told me they were singles.
And they have a bit of the 60 cycle hum/hiss/noise in them when soloed, so I know they are singles.

Anyway, just a side note.

Ha, its true when you look at how much we pay for tuition to private universities these days, whats another 3 grand? In reality, the next bass I do buy will be either a sadowsky or an mtd 435, its a really hard choice. (used, for both)

anyway, i've been playing this one non-stop. i can't get over the playability and how round, full, and juicy the tone is. i can have a very light touch, and the notes just sing with authority.

Now I'm confused too. I was told my Metro MS-5 had the single-coils and vtc when I bought it used. The pu's have the matte finish top on them BUT they do have the slight hiss/hum when you solo them.

Well, I just confirmed the order form with Kevin at Sadowsky guitars for a bass that looks pretty much like this:

Sorry about the single coil description. Nino told me that at the shop a while back. Maybe that has change although my fretless is as described. By single coils I mean the true type, not the HC's although they look the same
