No posts since November? It's time to liven things up around here! This will be in my hands within a week or so!

Specs:
Spalted maple on ash / natural finish
Birdseye maple fretboard / vintage tint

Awesome!!! That's a killer top and the birds eye fingerboard looks as good or better. These would be my wood choices If I ever went 'exotic'.

The top was called "crazy Maple" when I bought it..but I found it is actually a Birdseye Lace Burl top!

Thanks! The top is pretty amazing in person...really pops at you. The Vintage Tint Finish really did the trick.
The Fingerboard is Madagascar Rosewood. Can't wait to get this thing built!!

I wouldn't say 'just' Madagascar. But your point is taken. It's not Brazilian. That is a beautiful FB! How does Madagascar Rosewood sound compared to Brazilian or Indian Rosewood?

Oooh that's nice. 'Crazy Maple' is appropriately cool for that top.

I find it to be a great substitute for Brazilian. It is very dense. Very hard to get now as very little wood is coming out of Madagascar these days, including ebony. East Indian RW is muddy sounding, to my ears, compared to Brazilian, Madagascar and Morado (Pau Ferro).

At least the floor is hickory. I can enjoy it knowing no potential basses were sacrificed for the cause.
