Agreed. It's not a "one trick pony" but it does have a certain voice.

I truly don't know which i would rather have. They both have their perks and drawbacks.
I have a Sadowsky NYC 4 and a Sandberg. I have played a Zon but don't own one.
My advice:
Since they all sound great to you, you can't go wrong with any of them. So now you need to decide based on:
1. How it feels to play
2. Availability
3. Price vs. your budget
4. Resale value, if that's a factor for you
5. Looks, if that's a factor for you
If you want to consider only 'value' and nothing else, just get the cheapest one since they are all great.
Both my Sadowsky and Sandberg feel super great to play - neither is nicer than the other. They are both 10 out of 10. No room for improvement. For looks, the Sandberg wins - I have a heavy relic model just like the one in the video. It's so cool!
You can also get a MusicMan StingRay 5 HH which sounds pretty great, and if G&L makes a 5-string version of the L2000, that would also be equally great. Since you like the way those three sound, you'd also like the sound of a Vigier.

Choosing bases by watching other people play different examples through a YT video is like trying to find out if you like a girl by kissing her sister through a layer of gauze.
I do like to consider resale because I tend to flip a lot of gear. The problem with playability is that I don't have the opportunity to play any of them. There are no dealers remotely close to me that carry any of those brands which sucks.
Is that a walnut top, roasted neck and ebony board? I have the same combo on a modern 5 string. Killer!
Musicman1901 I live in Spokane, WA and have similar remoteness issue. Every now and again I fly to a city with a "bass salon" with the intention of trying anything and everything for a day. For the price of these instruments airfare is 10% of their value (new) and can avoid some buyers remorse. I will plug Bass San Diego for this one, but all have proven good. Other option is buy a used model and then if you don't like it do a flip and you will probably get back 90%(ish) of the cost. This has worked for me as well.
Yeah it sucks living in the middle of nowhere. I'm about a 5-6 hour drive from a Zon dealer currently
I tried to tell people this when I was buying and selling basses like crazy for a while a few years ago. I admit I was maybe a little crazy, but the only way I could try anything that wasn't Ibanez or Fender, was to buy online. I'm hours away from anywhere that has any kind of selection, and even then I find it pretty limited.
I'm guessing that the nearest Zon dealer is about 5 hours away. Same with Roscoe.
We have great air connections, especially in the west. Cheaper to fly to San Diego or Phoneix than drive to Seattle of Portland if staying overnight. Take a bass vacation! Being in the East head for Bass Central in Tampa or the Atlanta Bass Gallery. I bet airfare to Tampa is reasonable.
Sounds like you need to plan a trip to NYC. If you do that, you are welcome to come over here and check out the goodies as part of your trip. (30+ basses and a bunch of amps, cabs, pedals.) I'm an hour away from the City.
There is often a decent selection in Edison, NJ as well.
It's not always bad, but I find as I get older, I would like to be closer to things to do and away from day after day of highs below 0.

Red River (I think), 1969. I went to four high schools in four states and I only remember two of them. Big memory's are shutting down US 2 when the B-52's took off to bomb Vietnam and neighbor getting hand frozen to car door handle. He was not from the north apparently. I will now swerve back to on topic.

Sadowsky takes it IMO, to my ear its what I like the best. That Sadowsky Mid cut is amazing! Notice the slight balance issue on the Zon when he hits the B? The Sadowsky is very balanced on the other hand!
A little tweaking of any of those and almost anyone should be happy!
