I have a Samson SX 1800 with only one working channel.
The back of my amp has two 1/4" outs, one speakon out, and two binding post outs. When I looked it up on samsontech.com the pdf user manual described an amp with two speakon and two binding post outs.
I called Samson and confused a guy who works there a little bit (he asked if I had misread it as SA 1800 and then made sure I knew what 1/4" jacks look like---just doing his job, but still humorous). He doesn't seem to think that my amp is real...but it says SX 1800 on the front once and the back twice. And it has 1/4" jacks that look quite original.
Does anybody know about or have a different version of the SX 1800?
My other question:
there are lots of websites that indicate that the SX 1800 is stable at 2 ohms x 900 watts. The guy at Samson assured me that it had to be 4 ohms---this is inconvenient since I just finished a 2x12 that can be either 8 or 2 ohms for use with my now blown up GK---if that's the actual deal then thats fine but I don't really trust that guys word on my amp since he knows literally nothing about it and would probably argue that it didn't exist if I were less sure that it did. What would happen in stereo mode at 2 ohms? (There is a specific error that happens when loads dip below 2 ohms mentioned in the pdf---this seems to indicate 2 ohm loads aren't THAT bad?)
