Sandy Anderson.....R.I.P.

Thanks for that. I was lucky enough to do sound for Phil for about 5 years before he moved to LA a few years ago. He is so missed here but LA is a better place for it.

I’m sorry to hear about Sandy’s passing. My condolences on your loss and I wish the best for his wife.
Phil Hamilton is back in NY. Playing the Anita Baker Farewell Tour, The Unlimited Touch revival and for his church.

It's funny, I didn't know it was my former band-mates until a friend told me. But I knew Tony, Phil and Sandy (and Stephanie) were going to be professional musicians. That's how good they were in HS. Our band was pretty damn good. If I can find them, I'll post some audio clips. Be advised, they were recorded on a cassette tape recorder back in 1977 so sound quality is horrible.

Stephanie was also a very good singer in her own right. Very popular in HS as her beauty matched her talent. She was gorgeous. Lenny and Audrey didn't attend my HS.

As for Inside Out......you know, I never even noticed the similarities of the bassline as compared to Mark Adams playing back then. It wasn't until Sandy told me it was him. I then listened to it (40 years after it was released mind you) and said, yeah, it sounds like Mark Adams but there were some nuances in there that Mark never played. Wasn't any of his typical sounding licks. Yet folks swore it was Mark. I contacted the producer of the track and he ran down the story but that is was indeed Sandy on bass. Even Mark Adams thought it was himself. LOL
As promised. Sandy is playing sax here.

I just saw this. I am very sorry and pray that Sandy's wife has a full recovery. Do you know if Sandy played bass on Aurra's hit "Are You Single?" I assumed that Mark Adams was the bassist but I've been told Sandy was the bassist. I need to check out his discography. Sounds like Sandy servers more credit and wider recognition.

Are You Single was Steve Washington on bass. I have not seen any updates in months so I don't know how Sandy's wife made out.

I just found this clip of Sandy.

My mind is totally blown with the skill level shown here!:wideyed::wacky::jawdrop: If I heard the audio only, I would have guessed it was Bill Dickens!

Yeah, his last 20 or so years he was playing a 9 string (I believe) and moving away from standard bass playing as evidenced in that video. He did however take some gigs with Crown Heights Affair and bought a Steinberger to match the guitar players Steinberger. He also pulled out a short scale 5 string to play gigs with the revived Unlimited Touch. He was fussing about not getting calls due the him playing his 9 string Conklins.

I'm really sad that I was not able to visit him and that Covid took him away as well as another good longtime friend of mine!! I had planned to reconnect and do a video interview.
