The stores here, the ones open anyways, have had acrylic guards put up around the cashiers and six foot interval spots taped to the floor. The Florida March break madness, and Mardi Gras celebrations, have myself and friends just shaking our heads. This is serious business, and we’re probably only 5-10% of the way through this thing. Missing my sportsStore workers are starting to wear gloves and masks here, and some stores are installing sneeze guards to slow the spread of contaminated droplets. I have been guilty of taking gratuitous trips although I am pretty rigorous about maintaining social distance, wearing masks, washing my hands and sanitizing surfaces. I do not want to push my luck, and I plan to stick much more closely to my house.
Reading about Sandy Anderson’s death really hammers home how fragile we are.

I think what has happened is that concerns about the economy, combined with the fact that this is uncharted territory (for 100 years anyways), have made people look the other way. Unfortunately it seems like a vaccine is not on the immediate horizon. The thing that really showed me how lightly some people are taking things was when I was being a bit naughty myself. I live in Illinois, but I can see downtown St.Louis from my front yard because my house is on the Mississippi River bluff. St. Louis is about ten miles from my house. I was born Sunday and told my wife let’s drive to St. Louis. The plan was to drive over and not get out of the car to maintain distance. When got to Forest Park, the second or third largest urban park in the USA, it was so crowded, it looked like Memorial Day or the Fourth of July! I looked at that and said Missouri is going to blow up like Florida and Louisiana. It made me appreciate the stricter controls in Illinois. It also shows the weakness of the federal system in the USA.

I'm sorry to hear the news. I hope his wife pulls through this.My good friend, Sandy Anderson passed away from the effects of the Corona virus. We were in a band together during my HS days. He then formed the band Unlimited Touch. A funky, disco band that had a couple hits on the R&B charts in the early 80's. He was also involved in the controversy of who played bass on the Odyssey hit, Inside Out. Many thought it was Mark Adams from the funk band, Slave. It was Sandy as confirmed to me by himself, the producer and keyboardist on the track.
He passed away early this morning. His wife is also in the hospital fighting for her life.
