My good friend, Sandy Anderson passed away from the effects of the Corona virus. We were in a band together during my HS days. He then formed the band Unlimited Touch. A funky, disco band that had a couple hits on the R&B charts in the early 80's. He was also involved in the controversy of who played bass on the Odyssey hit, Inside Out. Many thought it was Mark Adams from the funk band, Slave. It was Sandy as confirmed to me by himself, the producer and keyboardist on the track.

He passed away early this morning. His wife is also in the hospital fighting for her life.

R.I.P. Sandy!! :crying:

I'm sorry. Everybody PLEASE try to follow the guidelines for being safe.

+1

Dave, please accept the condolences of a fellow NYC native bassist of a certain age. I am very sorry.

Folks, the pandemic is real. Until it is done, please heed the CDC guidelines for staying healthy:

Wow, bummer. The United States seems to be a bit behind in calling for non essential businesses to be closed. Things have been locked down here for a week. When I’m in a store, the gloves and mask go on and even items bought are sanitized at home. I keep seeing the same familiar cashiers, none of whom are wearing masks and very few wearing gloves. How any of them have not come down sick is beyond me.

Store workers are starting to wear gloves and masks here, and some stores are installing sneeze guards to slow the spread of contaminated droplets. I have been guilty of taking gratuitous trips although I am pretty rigorous about maintaining social distance, wearing masks, washing my hands and sanitizing surfaces. I do not want to push my luck, and I plan to stick much more closely to my house.

Reading about Sandy Anderson’s death really hammers home how fragile we are.
