SansAmp Programmable Bass Driver ELITE

Maybe I'm just getting grumpy in my old age, but so many manufacturers seem to be missing the mark on these small multi-units. Why can't we get a decent 3 or 4 knob compressor and and actual tuner that is stage useable on these, instead of a bunch of features that will rarely be used?

And digital? Why?

Just give us a better VTDI with the features mentioned above, please.

While I'm selling a digital multi and have gone back to actual pedals (again) this still piques my interest. I can't figure out if you have to store the 'effects' (filter and chorus) in the preset as-is only, or if you can have the presets include them, but make them switchable on/off within the preset with the Red footswitch.

The Sansamp and VT cab simulation is a kind of HFP. I've never needed a separate HFP when using either.
Agreed, and I should have said "adjustable HPF". The Sansamps all seem to have built in circuitry that does some sort of high passing. However, I have found the HPF frequency to be a little high for my liking .....at least on my VTDI. I have my bass channel's HPF set to 60 hertz (-12 slope) on my board, and my VTDI is significantly thinner than that.

Something adjustable (or bypassable) would be nice.

For now I’m not planning on getting the bass driver. Too little knowledge about it and i couldn’t be waiting 6 months for something. Ended up getting the Valeton GP-180. This has HPF and LPF on all the cab sims, 4 band global parametric EQ with HPF and LPF as well. Might do the Sansamp sound but it covers everything i need and no need for any app or computer.
Plus it has an internal 6 hour battery.

I read it as the Red switch will engage, or disengage whatever effect you have saved in that preset. How well it works is something we will have to find out.

RED/TUNER TRIPLE FUNCTION FOOTSWITCH with LED status indicator:

1. Engages and disengages the Red Zone controls.

2. Activates the Tuner.

3. During live performances, it engages your pre-programmed effect —chorus or filter or both.

Yes but that date is for current orders. I placed a pre order for the Amalgamation and received it last week where it says June delivery now.
Ive seen this happen before. Due to the pre orders the website shows a longer time frame because the first batch has already been taken.
I dont think this is the case with the Bass Driver though. The website doesnt even have the software download yet so I can't see anyone getting one before the date showing on websites.

I have just preordered one and it's supposed to be delivered next week, but as the company doesn't have any stock yet, even though they claim the 25th. I'm not expecting to see it this month. If it gets to May ill cancel as I don like this sort of business practice where everyone is keep in the dark. Not good customer relations.

Yeah this is infuriating and I fell for it again just like I did for the XB. One good thing about being older is that it makes the time pass faster -- yet this whole deal with T21 releases being pushed later and later brings me back to childhood when I'd order something from a comic book and wait months for delivery.
With the XB, it was 'waiting for parts; supply chain delays.' Probably the same case here, but why wasn't this anticipated by T21? It's possible to time so-called 'release' with actual availability if the manufacturer had any restraint.

Don't spend your money on non-existent products, I guess. Unless the product is clearly available I don't understand the need to grab the very next new thing immediately. Obviously companies announce new releases as early as possible and frequently the actual product lags well behind the announcement date. Tech 21 is an extremely reputable company and I'm sure your bar gigs will be just fine until the Elite shows up.

Seeing as I have ordered one, I am really interested to see how the tuner works. It says it's chromatic but no visuals in the manual (or any videos) of how it indicates a sharp or flat for instance down tune to an Eb. If it detects sharps and flats quick, I can hopefully get a tuner off my board! I'm sure the Marty Friedman pedal works exactly the same but I haven't seen anything on that either.
Ok I'm back. Haha. I even contacted Tech 21 and they told me you can "tune chromatically"... well I knew that, just wanted to know what that looks like. I may have found it. I took this screen shot from Marty Friedman pedal demo.
Looks like it has the note "A", indicator if pitch is sharp or flat (sharp in this case) and right beside it, another indicator (in this case note is A#/Bb). I'm guessing thats how it works.
Not as nice as the fly rigs with different colored # and b. Very minimalistic, could be useable. I downtune a lot throughout a gig, mainly E string, sometimes to an Eb, and this has to be quick for me and will determine if I can replace my tuner on board.

Gonna wait on this for a while, to hear some real feedback from users, but I'm excited to try it.

Been using Zoom stuff for quite a while, and I have decided that I just don't need 30 types of flanger at hand with a multi. I use a basic, clean, compressed SansAmp DI patch 99% of the time, and the rest is fun but rather wasted. Maybe it's all in my head, but this seems like a more "professional" option as an all-in-one, especially if the tuner is decent.

I also use a Zoom, a B6. It's great for amp sims at home but way more than I need for live use. I too am hoping this unit checks all my boxes for live use.

Sweetwater showing July estimate on the Elite. I can't remember if that was what it was last time I looked. Gear4Music shows estimated time of June 3-5, which seems kind of odd.
Tech21 showing Late June early July.
G4M and Andertons keep changing the dates, you cant go by those websites. G4M in the UK is still showing May 31st lol.
