My guitar player has become obsessed with ol 'squatch, walks around in the woods out behind his house making videos of seemingly ordinary things that happen in woooded areas trying to read things in to them that are just ordinary stuff that you see in the woods all the time. I try to tell him that these sort of obsessions are not healthy or rational, but you know.................he wants to believe. I am dumbfounded how a seemingly otherwise rational person would entertain such things.

If such a creature exists it would be living in the most remote and rugged areas in the world, its scarcity leads me to believe it wants nothing to do with the human race.

Sounds like Ol' Sas is a pretty smart dude. He probably hates tuna noodle casserole as well. Tell your guitar player to leave burritos laying around with hidden motion sensor cameras pointed at them. The big fella loves burritos, heavy on the guacamole.

I have lived in British Columbia since 1996, and spent the vast majority of my time working in the forestry consulting sector (read: my work days almost always involve being in the bush, on foot, covering several kilometers per day...) - I have never seen a sasquatch, not a footprint, no other signs...

Having said that, can I 100% per cent rule out its existence? No...if sasquatch exists, the common consensus is that it is a lower primate, and lower primates of course are very closely related to humans. So imagine something almost as smart as humans, but way more in tune with nature and its surroundings. I mean, we know bears exist, and in 15-plus years of working in the bush, I have probably laid eyes on bears in the bush less than ten times (I've seen way more of 'em alongside the highways)...they know we are coming, and most of 'em want nothing to do with us...sasquatch, if real, would likely be the same.

Having said all that, yes, it definitely weakens the case of those who believe that, as far as anyone knows, nobody has ever come across bones or any other solid evidence which could theoretically provide definitive proof of a large (and current) primate in North America. I think some of the native tribes here in BC say that sasquatch is a creature that only appears in times of trouble, like, he's an inter-dimensional being of some sort...I guess for most people that would require even more suspension of disbelief...

And to your point we know bears are a real animals rarely spotted and as rare finding bear bones or even mountain lion bones in the wild. If they are a lower version of humans they may bury their dead. The myth has been around along time and continues to the present day. As I had mentioned in an early post I know someone who was in law enforcement who was camping in upstate New York who saw it dead on lock eyes with it and he's a well educated straight to the point matter of fact guy who never would have said it if it didn't happen. So that encounter peaked my interest in the subject. Personally I think if it is out there with all of the damage we are doing to the natural environment it supposedly inhabits it is going to get pushed into the open like many other animals that we don't normally find roaming our neighborhoods.

i didn't think i'd see this thread emerge again, lol. Sasquatch lives people,.. that's all i can offer. i've gotten repeat contacts in one of the mountainous areas that i frequent. they have displayed super intelligent behavior and enormous strength in my presence. it is literally mindblowing. they don't really fear us, they just don't trust us.
once again, i pray they stay a myth!

If they are real I am with you on the myth thing nothing good would come of humans finding them and throwing them in a zoo some place that is for sure.

It's one thing to like it as entertainment. I love zombie movies and shows, but I'm not building a compound or anything. I say if you've bought a thermal camera you've gone too far. Otherwise, enjoy squatchin'! It's good to get out and go camping. With a bunch of gear. And probably one Skeeter and maybe a Bubba. Fun fun!

I believe that you believe you've seen them.

But would you agree that your first hand account doesn't count for much? Whether or not you care if people believe you, do you think they should? Is your personal experience (and the personal experience of other like minded people) good enough evidence to convince a rational person that sasquatches are real?

great questions as usual, lol. i'm unable to convince anyone what i believe i saw, but i also don't mind the humor that the topic brings. :)

I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but if such a creature existed and prints and other evidence of it's existence have been found, then the creature could be located. There are trackers who could track a bug across a hundred miles of sold rock so something that big and hairy would leave a trail a mile wide for a professional tracker.
