A lot of the information in their long form podcast videos is quite simplified and or geared towards beginners or entry level players, especially to push their paid lesson thing. Interesting that they would use any language like that and alienate a large part of who their videos are geared for...
SBL is a fraction of what it was years ago when it was just Scott giving real advice and experience, and at this point is nothing more than concentrated cringe like 90% of music youtube channels are now

Why does his accent change constantly?

'colourful language' is all cultural imperialism anyway. Mostly Anglo-Saxon words, which were deemed unacceptable by the Normans after the Norman conquest, which is why all the Latin/French-derived words are OK, but the gutteral Anglo words aren't.

I think even you would know references to vile and violent things, as well as mocking the Sacred should not be allowed.

Young people don’t seem to care about cursing compared to previous generations. They still get offended over certain words, likely many that you use on a regular basis without giving it a second thought, but not cursing.

I personally don’t understand getting upset over any words at all. For me it’s the intention that matters. ::shrug::

I watched a player absolutely killing it on a Soundgear once, and that clarified a few things for me regarding gear.

They are very much suited to “shred.” Near guitar spacing, light-ish, neck that is so thin it’s near impossible to hold on the lower frets.

That would be like noting a race car can go fast.

I will say though that the finish is dreadful: it’s a wax thing on raw wood. God Help you if you get one that someone used lemon polish on. It seeps into the wax and wood

Uh uh. There was no shred. Player was backing a crooner and nailing the feel and changes with maximum taste and a beautiful tone. Just perfect, tasteful playing. The instrument was clearly incidental to the playing.

soundgear ibanez are designed to mimic boutique basses in feel, look, and tone but at a third of the price. By it being suitable for "shred" I mean the basses are designed with the utmost playability in mind as if nothing is even in your hands to begin with. they even use bartolini electronics, either the real thing or knockoffs.

Not to mention they aren't cheap and haven't been for over a decade. The cheapest japanese made one is currently over $2000 with specs that put $6000 american handmade basses to shame, and the average the korean ones are equal to fender american in quality and price.

you might be going off of how they were seen in the 80's when they were cheap sleeper instruments.


For example, I bought and returned an ibanez azs guitar from japan. Nearly identical to suhr in quality but half the price new, and a third of the price used.

high end japanese made ibanez' (their japanese custom shop is semi-available to the public whereas their american custom shop is endorser only) are $5000 minimum and are only made to order directly from the company with a rigid set of specs. you get the exact instrument the endorsers get though.

Scott actually did a video a few years back on how YouTube’s algorithm has forced video creators like him to make their content in particular formats, lengths, to grab people in a certain space of time etc. Essentially he was saying that the ‘clickbaity’ feel of his and others’ videos is a response to how YouTube operates. The alternative is to see your audience and your income disappear.

I wouldn't characterise it as profanity though, more like just pointless, gratuitous childishness.

Profanity? You Americans have never heard a Northern Italian... well, just speak. In certain parts of Italy, "God (is a) dog/pig" or "(the) Virgin Mary (is a) slut" don't even necessarily convey rage, most of the time they're just filler words. The irony is that Italy is traditionally a (very) Catholic country.

You realize the dark and much more harmful crap that’s on the Internet, right? I highly doubt that’s the first time any of them are going to hear any of those words.

I don’t recall anyone saying they were upset.
Not liking the content does not mean I am upset. If someone offers you food that you don’t care for and you say no thank you that does not mean that you are upset.

To SBL I say No thank you. If I talked the way they do and said **** *** SBL, then you could say I was upset. Or maybe you would just think it was funny .
