Yea, and the Ian guy, or whoever he is, is what, 40ish? And is trying to talk like he is in middle school half the time, thinking he sounds cool, and just sounds pathetic. Can't take him for more than a few minutes. I prefer the videos he isn't in.

To me, boutique is more about quantity than quality, because small numbers cost more to make per item. But I see your point, I guess the truth is in the middle.

Can't speak for others, but for me SBL has become so disappointing because it once was so enjoyable. It's like going into your favorite upscale restaurant and finding it has adopted a Chuck E. Cheese entertainment style.
Yeah, I understand why people see it the way you see it, but then the term boutique becomes sort of useless to me. If someone says they have a boutique instrument, and they just mean it's one of very few, then I don't really see why that matters. I guess I just don't care about that sort of stuff much.
It grew up during the pandemic and would now like to be referred to by it's full name, Charles Entertainment Cheese.
+1 I think that's what a lot of people are objecting to. It's not the (swear) words themselves, it's the context. There was no reason to include swearing in SBL's earlier videos but now there is? I would expect that what is offending some people is the change in tone, and for what reason? To pander to a more cynical audience? To try to sound cooler by way of teen-level irreverence? I'm not saying this is what Scott and Ian are doing, but it wouldn't surprise me if some people are interpreting their behaviour this way.
I don't think it applies. Everyone has a right to be offended. I think it's what you do with that emotion that determines if it's selfish or not.
Some things offend me (like pointy headstocks (JK
)) but I just choose not to look, listen, read, whatever it is. I don't necessarily think if something offends me that it should be banned. Others may enjoy it, or not mind. And I have the choice to not partake.

That's a good point. If you have already established a certain tone and atmosphere, why change it? But that's the problem (sometimes) with growth. They probably noticed a certain demographic watching their videos or subbing more, and commenting on Youtube and felt the need to cater to them for those clicks.

Love them or hate them, these guys move the needle, otherwise we wouldn't be up to (checks notes) 8 pages of mostly off topic bickering over (gasp) swear words in a youtube video. Their style obviously isn't for everyone, but it's just as obviously really, really successful. To be honest, sometimes the schtick wears thin on me too, so you know what I do? I watch another video and get on with my day.
People in general sound burn more calories on things they enjoy vs. being salty about the things they don't.

Anyway, I wasn’t going to watching the video, but then someone said there was profanity, and like anyone who grew up in the Parental Advisory period the R rating tells it’s a good movie that I need to see, so I watched it, and was kinda disappointed over how little actual swearing there was.
