It was updated, with the lightweight hardware, etc, a couple of years before they did the Stingray Special!Wow, I never thought they'd do that. I think it's also time for the Bongo to be updated, like what they did with the Stingray Special.
Agreed, there’s a lot riding on this. It’s almost like this could be a redemption for some of their, shall we say, indiscretions.SBMM, please have a good standard of production for these basses!

If they can do it for the SBMM Joe Dart , they sure better do it for their Bongo.Agreed, there’s a lot riding on this. It’s almost like this could be a redemption for some of their, shall we say, indiscretions.
Hahahahaha, I thought the same thingNo freaking way!! Just when I thought I purchased my last bass....
What has me worried is that very cheap price range. The 5 string is $799 I think. The darkray is $1399. You would think these Bongo’s would start out with at least a grand. 2 band eq for a Bongo? This doesn’t make me regret buying my Ernie ball bongo yesterday in the least. I also think they could have put the ebony fretboard on this bass. That’s probably a big reason why it’s priced so cheap. The sterling darkray has the ebony fretboard. Did you know that sterling is also coming out with a darkray 5 string? If they can do it for the SBMM Joe Dart , they sure better do it for their Bongo.
Here is the real question ……. how much ?
I sure do hope to see Juliaplaysgroove with one of these !!!
