SBMM Bongo!!

There are smaller builders that do make neodymium stingray pickups! 4 bands are also increasingly common. Go all in with a Flexcore!
I've heard great things about the Flexcore. That's a great idea!

Any recommendations on where to look for a neodymium pickup? I know there's Aero and i believe there was a company out of Italy as well. But there is really limited media around these. Maybe something for you to review... wink wink nudge nudge.

Oh wow!! I kept hoping SBMM would put out a Purple Sparkle Ray34 HH and finally gave up. Now I see this and I know a Firemist Purple Satin HH will be added to my collection very soon. I wonder if the 2 band EQ is similar to the Ray34CA? I've heard good things about those basses. A Ray34CA disguised as a Bongo might be pretty cool. It's kinda funny that I just purchased a Spector Ethos in Plum Crazy Gloss to satisfy my purple fixation and now this comes out. More purple for my collection :).

Edit: Ooops, disregard what I just said. The Ray34CA is a single pickup and the Bongo is an HH. My bad, but I still want one.

Did anyone get a video of this bass at NAMM?
I can’t wait to here the demo’s when they start. I’m just curious as to why the low price point. There are sterling 34’s and 35’s that are higher priced. Actually all of those sterling34’s and 35’s are priced higher. The darkray is the highest priced sterling I have seen and I would expect this Bongo to at least be as much as the darkray. Since I’ve had the darkray for 4 months, honestly, the quality is there or at least it is there on the one I own.

But the sterling darkray for me is a specialty instrument and not one I would use all the time which is why I didn’t spend the money and get the USA version.
