Did the preorder ever happen? All their media said preorders start on 1/23 but I haven't seen anything

SBMM Bongo!!

I just checked. No notification today. I'll be all over a 5 in black as soon as I get notified. Someone stole my 6 Bongo. I hope to keep this one in sight. I will mod where I feel it needs help.
No; SBMM does not use same wood as EBMM on any of their matching style Basses
Most SBMM use Nyatoh, some Mahogany but they do use Basswood on Sub Series
don't know if you guys caught this on YT, but at least its an update and we get to see them in a VERY brief video...LOL
The fact that there is not even one demo is creepy. The 2 at NAMM must be models and not have wires and electronics in them yet.
Another good question, and I can’t remember if I already asked. I know nobody knows but this might get some thinking too. 1 9 vlt battery or 18 vlt?
Nobody knows for certain. They haven't shared any pictures of the backside. I'd say it's about 99% probability of 9 V, as there have never been any 18 V preamps on SBMM instruments so far.
Actually the sterling darkray is 18 V. I agree though that it’s more likely the Bongo will be 9.
I stand corrected! Never seen one of those in real life – they're very rare in this part of the world (and cost way over 2000 €, which is more than the original EBMM stingrays cost new pre-covid... insane). I own a Ray34, a Ray34CA and a Ray35 though.

Three Darts in two colorways available for order but no SBMM Bongo yet. Hmm…
I know you have to cut costs where you can, and I know that none of the import EBMM basses are identical to the USA version, but the thing that really made me want a Bongo was the pickups and preamp.
As much as I would like to have one of these in purple, it would only look like a Bongo. It won't sound like one, or have anywhere near the tonal variety.

Yeah, it misses the whole point of what makes a Bongo a Bongo.
I love the look of the purple one especially... but it just looks like a Bongo.
Then again, me being me, I'll probably end up getting one anyway, since I can't resist beautiful purple basses it appears
