gotta admit I wasn't bonding well with mine. E was boomy. So as I've sat down with every bass, the last week or so. Took the time to really dial it in. Lowered saddles, adjusted the relief a bit more, angled the pickup a skoosch. Kept playing until it sounded even. Now I'm good, all the growl, the rotosound flats are just right for me on this bass. Finally feeling better and good enough to play most everyday, glad mine is here to stay
I've had that happen with a few basses too. I usually spend a good amount of time trying to get them sounding right but some I've given up on.
Glad you got yours straightened out. I'm still figuring this string tension thing. Trips me up on faster more aggressive playing.
