SBO 24 - The Muffbucker

This is no longer the Muffbucker, it's the, umm, SUB(mud)bucker!

I wired a 0.1uf cap into the tone circuit and the bass found its true calling. A proper sub bass. None of the Darkglass/Dingwall low tuning that hurts my ears with upper midrange clank - proper sub 100hz content.

Have a listen with headphones. Believe it or no ot, the only signal processing is light compression. Sure it's a niche (and muddy) sound, but we build our own instruments here. I don't need another bass that does what the rest of my herd does.

Full demo to follow once the bass is finished - including some without the influence on the tone knob. It's waaaayyy middy.

Here’s my entry into the scratch build category of the Talkbass Summer Build Off

Specs
39” scale four string tuned F#BEA
One piece tiger jarrah neck
Tiger jarrah fretboard
Pigeon berry ash and tiger jarrah body
Hipshot Kickass bridge
Artec mudbucker pickup
Stacked V/T on an Ibanez Talman control plate
Newtone strings (0.174” F#)

What started as the Muffbucker ended up the SubBucker. It’s fat, it’s low, but it’s also fairly defined down there.
