Schecter Basses?

G&L is my bass of choice, but through some trading at the local music store I ended up with a brand new Schecter Extrem Omen 5. At the price point you can't beat them. If all I had was $500 it would be my main bass. Its the one in the middle.

Congrats on the bass, I have a diamond series and love it. Real quality instrument. Going by what you wrote, I would never deal with that music store again. Hosing is not a good way to build a customer base. And not ordering what you want would be the nail in the coffin for me. I have a friend who has a music store that deals with Shechter and from what I've seen, they're very easy to deal with. With the deals you can get online, a brick and mortar store needs to have outstanding customer service. Sounds like this guy doesn't know the meaning of it.
I'd decided long ago not to darken their door over their poor customer service, but my wife unfortunately had no idea when she bought that bass. I hated to have to go back in there and deal with the guy. I should've sold the guitar and pedal outright and I wouldn't have lost that much money, but right now I'm not in a position to mess with it, so I bit the bullet and made the trade. I knew what would happen when I did. But I love this bass, and today I ordered some LaBella flats for it, so it's all good! :D

That's a really nice bass, I like that color scheme. Was just looking at a 4 string version on Sunday. I got hosed on a trade a few years ago, but I ended up with a really nice bass. It was the only way I could have aquired it, so given the alternative of not owning it, I'm ok with it. And it makes a great story.

Last year when I was shopping for a new bass I did play a couple Schecters and I liked them. They felt better than most of the other basses I had tried. But then, I played an Ibanez Soundgear and the search was over. I have yet to find another brand of bass that is more comfortable to play than a Soundgear.

I'd have to agree with the greater playability of the soundgear bass but that's the only place Ibanez has it over schecter, owning one of each that are right around the same price range I can say you get way more quality in the schecter for your money, if I shaved down the neck of my schecter it would play just as well as the iby and still be more stable because of the neck threw construction and graphite rods witch you have to pay over $1k to get in an ibanez
