Schecter Owner's Club, pt 2

Just restrung my Diamond P with D'Addario Pro Steels. This thing sings now with the .055-.110 strings. Only problem is that the D and G are so high tension that it's hard to turn the tuning peg.
I actually haven't done any adjustments. There's a little more relief to the neck, but not much, and the intonation is better than it was with the stock strings and setup! I figure I might do some adjustments over the next few days if it seems off.
EDIT: After following the Jerzey Drozd setup guide, it actually looks to be more or less spot on (as my hands and ears had thought). The gap between the frets and the strings around the 7-9 fret is probably ~.5 mm. The intonation is pretty much perfect. It buzzes ever so slightly on the lowest frets on the E-string, but only when I really dig in and not enough to bother me. Action is right where I like it: less than a mm from the first fret to the string, about 4 mm from 21st fret to string. So I'm definitely not going to worry too much.

Kbone ATL gets #215, a welcome, and a question - what's the Ultra like? I really like the looks of those, but have not seen one outside of pics.
The Ultra in this older model is really nice. It has a thin neck like the C4, neck through, the EMG HZ's and I think the Schecter bridge. It has an extremely deep, low end with a lot of sustain from the neck-through. the body is huge, heavy, and rather cumbersome for me to play standing up. Then again I'm only 5 9 / 145 lbs so it would probably suit a taller player. This year had the headstock that was very bulky, and upside down which makes it a little neck-heavy. I scored it on Ebay for $430 so I'm not complaining 
The newer ones have a lighter head-stock, making it more balanced similar to the Thunderbird. I don't like that old-style bridge so I was actually going to get the newer model, and swap it out.

Probably the nicest B string I've ever played, although the neck seems a tad wide for my liking. Overall, I was impressed. Haven't had a chance to play a Stiletto that was properly setup.

How's that SX P/j sound, play?
I just bought a beautiful used C4 XXX on Sunday...not a scratch or mark on it, and the lowest action I've ever seen. Practiced with my band that evening, and it sounds great. I could get just about any sound I need from it. The balance is great, and at 8 pounds 7 ounces, the weight is pleasant, too!
I get a kick out of the inlays, but I haven't gone out of my way to point them out to my wife.

Well...crap. The bass arrived. Looks great, came with a new,expensive Levy's strap and a nice SKB case. The problem is that the active side doesn't work. Has a new battery in it, checked the charge, tried another battery. Nothing. Passive works.

The plastic is still on the cover. I am very sure I am the first to open the control cavity. Nothing loose. Options?
Well, why not email Schecter and tell them the story - sometimes manufacturers will give you pleasant surprises. They might just offer to take care of it for you.
Not what you want to hear when you want to use your new toy (and a really pretty one, too) but worth trying. Sounds like a bad component - BUT - just a thought - make sure that the battery connections are good, the battery wires aren't broken or pulled loose. You already tried two fresh batteries, so that's out.
