The only info I can find on the Riot Deluxe (the painted, bolt-on model) body material is that it's mahogany. I'm trying to find out for sure that it is at least solid mahogany and not plywood mahogany. If anyone here owns a Riot Deluxe, if you'd be so kind as to look under the control plate for laminations and post your findings in this thread? Thanks so much.

Another california custom on ebay. Man I wonder why these are being sold all of a sudden. From what I hear they are pretty good basses.
Kinda thinking of putting a de-tuner on my Diamond P... I'm guessing nobody knows the correct model to buy?
Beyond matching up the 'bolt pattern' to what's on it now, no idea. I'd be curious to see what you do end up with, tho...I've had the same thought now and then.
Hi, guys! I`m looking at lefthanded Schecters at the moment, and who better to ask than present owners.
What can you say about the general feel and sound of the chosen:

I`m all in for the wood combos, I`m more concerned about the pickups and their sound. I need a 4- and a 5-string, btw.

Well, as an owner of the Diamond P Custom, I can tell you it is definitely different from your run of the mill P bass. The P pickup doesn't sound a whole lot like a P, but it's still not bad. My personal favorite is the bridge humbucker. Huge output, sounds quite nice, and when blended with the P it's a very nice, balanced sound. Very versatile. The neck feels somewhere between a J and a P. Probably wider at the nut than the J and a thinner profile than the P. Very comfortable. If you want I can try to post some sound clips of it going straight into my audio interface. Still got stock strings, so bear that in mind.
Thanks, this was very helpfull. I have the same pickup-combo on my Yamaha RBX (not same brand, though), and I really like it. Please, feel free to post clips if it`s not too much work for you.
Not quite exactly what you asked about, but I own a Stiletto Extreme-4 (rt hand), and I love it...balances nicely on either the strap or when sitting down; doesn't weigh a ton; nice fast neck, even for a 'budget' instrument. I would recommend changing the nut, tho...I had a bone nut made/installed on mine and the sustain went up a bunch!

Sounded like an allround bass. I saw a concert with Gojira last weekend, and the bassplayer used a Custom-P body with a Fender-neck and modded electronics. It sounded huge, but most does through a 100 000 watts PA.
Here is my two years old Diamond Serie 004. I finally take pictures with my MacBook Pro integrated cam as I use a line 6 Pod Studio GX with tuxGuitar or GuitarPro to play over different songs. It's my fifth bass in life and second one since I come back to bass after a 26 years hiatus (wife, children, career, etc...). I try to find pics with my former bands in during the 70'-80', at that times I was using my beloved EB-4L gibby and a 1965 Hofner 182 Professional (short neck) to post in other treads (Gibson and Hofner clubs). Back to this Schecter, I like it a lot because of the variety of tones between the active settings and the passive mode. No neck dive (in comparison to my gibby and my Washburn idol bass), really confortable to play. So could I be part of the pack!

Really nice setup, I couln't found a black-maple when I search for an 004 and I bought the natural one but I would not try to get a black one now as I do not want two bass with the same model. By the way I have a good friend on Finland (living at Porvoo near Helsinki) he's a very funny guy with a particular but charming sense of humour and a great heart, his only default is that he's a guitar player

I've not seen that finish before. I wonder if it's a stock ash that's been redone...it almost looks like redwood.

It was not suppose to be redone but a tinted finish and it was listed as a new item ([Invalid or Expired Link Removed]), take a deeper look
