Does the sheer volume of misspellings seen here on Talkbass bother anyone? Or does the fact that I'm pointing this out bother anyone? Or maybe are you bothered because you didn't realize there were that many misspellings and.....

Never mind :rollno:

If you think it's bad on this site then I highly suggest you travel to other parts of the internet :) TB is probably one of the best forums I have ever been on in those regards (as well as others).

Yeah, I know it's bad on other sites but I still find it amazing that there are this many anywhere on the interwebs, especially when there is a built in spell checker when you reply to a thread.

Look dude, this is the internet. There are no teachers looking over us. And quite frankly, spelling, or lack thereof, is a technicality on forums. Honestly.

I see it like this. Is the statement more important than the spelling?

Lets say you read a post that says something like :" Today I beat my kid cuz I was drunk and he wouldn't shut up."

Are you going to give him a row for writing out "cuz" ?

I post 99% of the time from my phone.

I need new bifocals. My windows phone has terrible auto correct ,it often changes words like "in" to "on" etc...

That's awful, I'd never do that. I only beat my kids when I'm hungover.

Ah, the antebellum internet days where we kept the riff-raff out.

Blame the economic forces who encouraged people to shop online (for porn) for allowing the less civilized into our idyllic halcyon.

Yeah. And then there's the other side, where certain people use big words and I usually have no clue what the hell they're talking about.

No one in particular. Not even Unrepresented.

Does the work Shenanigans bother you too? No, how about ubiquitous (is that spelled right?) or bellicose? I kind of like the word monkeyshines too.

I think the spelling thing does bother some people, I understand. Every time my brother-in-law with a masters in psycholgy says "I seen your friend yesterday" I have to resist the urge to correct hom.
