Yes, I agree that this is the weakness of this cab. I have yet to coax anything resembling filling-rattling, bowel-turning bass. However, as I stated, while disappointing in that regard playing solo, the strength of the cab is a tone that will cut through the mix.

Like you say, all cabs have their compromise. Fortunatley, I have another cab for better lows so I can pair it with the mini-12 for a more full range sound. Or I might in the future spring for another of Jorg's cabs with better bass response.

I've only played the original slant design mini 12+ and didn't like it very much.

I like the entire current Schroeder line, but it sounds like you are asking that very small cab to do too much IMO. The 1210L and 1212L are very small (smaller than a 210 and about the size of some 112's), very light, and VERY loud. They take massive power and the sound to size and weight ratio is by far the best I've ever experienced.

As has been said many times, they do have a unique voicing that some like and some don't, but they will put out MUCH more volume and sound than the Mini's and still be among the smallest and lightest cabs out there.

I always viewed the Mini112 as designed more for DB, or for very small, very quiet gigs. The Schroeders are amazing for their size, but once you get that small of a box, it's kind of much to ask for big bottom and even moderate gig volume IMO.

I use a 1210R for Double Bass (and some electric) and find it much to my liking. While it's true it does not have the inherent low end built into say an Aggie 112, you can add it in quite easily with eq, and the cab will take it and like it I think Ken is onto something in that you may be asking the Schroeder 112, or in fact nearly any 112 to "rattle your fillings."
I find the Schroeders pair extremely well with the Thunderfunk and Eden amps I use...
