Scored A Gently Used Mike Dern P-Bass

I picked it up yesterday for $385 and a new set of flatwounds. Very nice tone, needed a set-up. So is this Mike Dern related to Bruce Dern, the actor? And I understand he works for Green Peace. Isn't that the "save the whales" organization? Well, I can't imagine naming a line of basses after an actor's relative who works with whales, but it's a nice bass anyway.

My apologies....no gig tonight and I was bored.

I did have to shimmy and tighten the truss rod to get a decent set-up along with several bridge adjustments. I guess I don't yet have an opinion on the BadAss II, but it's thickness sure changes the profile of the strings as compared to the standard Fender bridge.

True, the neck is chunky, but very smooth playing. I do imagine I'll use the bass on less busy basslines because of the neck, but it sure has a very nice tone.

Honestly, I am not a Green Day fan...too old for the music...so I don't know Mike Dirnt's work, but I think it will be a bass I'll keep for a good while.

wow... yeah! It's utterly impossible that a bass could come in more than one color scheme! what a Thought!

BTW...I scored this great Marcus Dillard bass, like the Department store!
