I once owned a bass named after Michael Jackson-they called it the Jaco bass. Just a regular looking fretless Fender jazz bass. I traded it for a Donald Duck Precision. That was the bass played by Donald Duck in the Disney animated film, The Blues Brothers.

I bet that Marcus Dillard bass is huge! I always enjoyed watching Marcus play his bass with his band "The Dillards" on the Andy Griffith Show. They were called The Darlings on the show. I don't know why. I think The Dillards still play regularly in Branson, MO. Marcus would always smoke a pipe while playing that bass and Donald Duck saw that one time and decided to do the same thing. Smoke a pipe I mean. Charlene Darling was hot.

I didn't know that Fred and Laura played. They should be very upset if Bruce Dern's relative has a line of basses and they didn't get one.

I would definitely consider trading Mike for Laura.

I picked it up yesterday for $385 and a new set of flatwounds. Very nice tone, needed a set-up. So is this Mike Dern related to Bruce Dern, the actor? And I understand he works for Green Peace. Isn't that the "save the whales" organization? Well, I can't imagine naming a line of basses after an actor's relative who works with whales, but it's a nice bass anyway.

uhhh.......jeesh.......yeah.....Dr. Carr...... last week GC got in a beautiful Fender '50s bass and I swapped the Mike Dern even-steven.

I am so embarrassed.
