I'm new to the forum and new to playing Bass (or any instrument for that matter...) Just wanted to stop in and say "Hi" since I'm North of Seattle in the Mount Vernon area...

Uh, I'm totally in. Been here over 11 years. I live smack dab downtown/ Chinatown Seattle. Right by Uwajimaya and only about 6 blocks from Bass NW. I walk by it every day to and from work. Talk about torture.

A Bluegrass Hoedown in Everett this Friday, 10/23/2009 from 5pm-10pm. All Ages Event.
Spare Rib & The Bluegrass Sauce (my jamband bluegrass string band) will be performing at the Floral Hall in Forest Park (in Everett).

Howdy folks
We are playing a great family event Friday night. You may remember the Heybrook Hoedown last year, but if you had too much fun and can't, here's a refresher.
Friends of Heybrook Ridge (FHR) is a small non-profit that organized in the mountain town of Index, WA to save 120+ acres from being sold and clear cut. The cost was 1.2 million dollars and, last year, this event was the kick off to that incredible fundraising effort by FHR. Since then FHR, with the support of the county and one $500,000 anonymous donor, has saved this precious natural resource and named it The Heybrook Ridge Education and Recreation area. Now the Friends of Heybrook Ridge enter a new phase in their effort raising funds and gathering volunteers for trail development and the creation of basic park facilities. All you need to support their cause is show up next Friday, eat some delicious food, drink yummy beer and stomp your feet to your favorite bluegrass band.
The event will be held at Floral Hall in Forest Park (803 E Mukilteo Blvd Everett, WA) Friday night October 23rd from 5 - 10 pm. Tickets are $15 for general admission $5 for children 12 & under. We'll get the music started around 6 pm and will play till 10 pm. Please make an effort to make it. The atmosphere in Floral Hall is delightful, the kids will have a GREAT time and the silent auction is packed with some real gems. Last year I scored a 2 day cabin rental in Index for less than $100 (can't beat that!).
